I’ve built a corporate fashion forward look with Emery’s new mesh Destiny top that’s currently available at My Attic. It’s available in 5 colors, and I think this look would really pop with the berry and au colors. I went a bit more sedate with my beige. It’s a high waist cut, that goes nicely with My Attic palm print Irie skirts, or any high waist bottom. I’m wearing it with Celoe’s Nikka Skirt in pitch, they worked perfectly together. I’ve accessories with SLink’s new Attache Bag in black, which is also available at My Attic, and Erratic’s new Emily leather boots in beige. The Emily boots are available in 11 colors, and a nice variety of browns within, and include a HUD for 3 types of metal inner zippers. I’m wearing a new skin from Tuli, the Eva in makeup 04 with dimples, and used the Tuli skin applier to custom match my SLink mesh hands. My nail polish applier is My Attic Sandee available in Set 30. Its a lovely cream, with silver pinstripe. My hair is newer from Wasabi Pills, and asymmetrical fringed bob called Betty. It’s currently available at FaMeshed. My poses are Adorkable’s Ella set, Cinderella themed poses before and after her fairy godmother change. All in keeping with My Attic’s April theme of ‘Change’. If you have styled/blogged a corporate/business attire look consider dropping it in my Second Life – Corporate Chic flicker group, check the group out for styling ideas.

My Attic’s April session runs through to April 30th. The theme for this session is ‘Change’ and the designers, and guest designers participating have created beautiful items based on what that theme means to them. A selection of fashion, hair, poses, accessories and props available. I hope you will join us for this event at The Deck. All items will be $95L for the duration of the event, and will then go to regular store prices afterwards. Stop by My Attic to see the many items that are available. Teleport: My Attic

Spring Fashion 2012

Spring Fashion

Spring is when we store away our heavy winter clothing, abandon the dark colors, embracing color, and light. I’ve put a spring outfit together utilizing the 2012 hot color trend of tangerine, offset with another 2012 trendy color shade of blue/green that fluctuates between teal, and jade.

Thinking of fall

Comfy Brown

To be perfectly honest, I am burnt out.  My real life is full of deadlines, activities, chores, while my second life is equally full of them.  I find myself in a zombie state at the computer unable to focus on anything that isn’t completely a waste of time.  When I walk away to take care of a non computer related real life task, I become just as unfocused, and unable to complete the task.  So I muddle through, hoping somewhere along the way I get energized, and able to get back on track.  So a quick style post, based on I know I should blog, and I was wearing it and liked it.

Marinara Flutter

Marinara Flutter

.
The main component of my outfit is a new release from MichaMi called the Marinara, shown here in red, a smexy, stylish one piece dress.  I’m wearing a few of LeLutka‘s early summer releases the Anna Belt (available in Light, Dark, True with 3 variations per), and Tairona Bag (comes with ao), along with their latest skin release- Flutter.  Details further down about the skin release.  I’m wearing the Moitie Jacket from Nyte’N’Day over the dress.  This is a favorite go to jacket in my inventory, I love the details of the jacket belt.  I have accessorized with A:S:S‘s Narayan Necklace.  Maitreya‘s Allegre shoes are another summer release I’m wearing available in a number of colors, or grab the fat-pack for the ultimate in mix in match styling.

LeLutka - Flutter

LeLutka just released Flutter a new female skin with a variety of new tones.  Shown here is Bisque which I judge to be similar to a light-mid tan/sun-kissed ranged tone.  I really liked the unique eyebrows, and the beautiful shading that really accentuates the eyes, a good cheek bones.  I am looking forward to seeing this changes as they relate to others shapes, but at the moment love it on my usual shape.
When you buy a skin tone you receive twelve makeup variations (one of them being a bare makeup, which is great on it’s own or for use with other makeup layers) in a dark brow, and twelve in a light brow. Two brow shapers (not shown here) for light and dark, breast enhancers on a layer and undershirt clothing layer. I was really excited to see the addition of two hair bases in Sookie, and Walnut Whip hair shades, nail covers in a matching bisque tone (for wearing under prim nails) on layer, and glove layer, and their 2011 lashes/curl  (which are color changeable).   I liked the range of tones this skin came in, and went with Bisque as it seemed like a nice end of summer tone, I look tanned, and with a few of the blushes a hint of sunkiss.  I might switch up a shade as fall progresses and winter comes. Grab demos to check out the new tones, and check out how it looks on you.

Flutter Full

And..yes, I just blogged a skin in my fringed cowgirl boots, if you don’t like it you can go dig up my mother and tattle, but she’s just gonna tell you about the summer I refused to wear anything but my white patent dress shoes from Easter.

Retro Wasabi

Wasabi Retro
Wasabi Pills has released a number of new hair styles since Hair Fair 2011. Shown here in a style post is a cute one called Pompon.  Featuring color/texture change headband, ribbon, knot, and hair bands.  It’s a cute look, I love the bangs.  Also shown are Roy which is a nice unisex style, and I think Thor does well for girls as well.   MissAllSunday Lemon, the hair designer behind Wasabi Pills brand, had many requests for a variation of her Kiki hair, and released Kiki Act II. I’m wearing a fun top called Vicky from artilleri which features a variety of different ‘patches’ shown here with Cherry.  I paired it with an early summer release from LeLutka, the Caprica jeans, shown here with the 3/4 cuff option.  Bukka is a cute store I love to find new things in, shown here are the Double Ring Belt, in this amazing color, it’s full of options even color change loops to match your clothes. I’ve pulled out a favorite style of purse from Celestial Studios.  Celestial Studios was around for years for those didn’t know. They were a popular place to go for skins, eyes, and clothes.  They closed earlier this summer, and will be missed. If you have their items, brush them off, give them an airing they are still great. Lately I have been using alot of their babydoll dresses with my Bloom avatar.

Wasabi Pills Recent Releases

YS&YS’s new release is the Milano Slingback, a sexy slingback shown here in Cherry White.  These are cute, I love the various patterns and colors. These are prim feet, and be sure to remember your best tricks for tinting as they do not feature any prim work to hide the attachment point.  Remember when tinting you will never get a perfect match, just very close to it. For these I recommend being sure to size them right to obscure the area. I sized down about -5 to hide the join. When tinting for street wear (as opposed to blog wear) I like to use the default light settings or a standard Caliah windlight setting. The majority of people on the grid are using default or a Caliah windlight variation. I no longer wear face lights.  Together these help assure me that most people most of the time are going to see me with matching feet.  It’s not fool proof, it all depends on what someone else’s default light settings are, and if there are lights around.  Who cares when they match on my screen ;P!

YSYS HUD

Many people aren’t sure how to go about tinting feet with just using a color picker, for those who aren’t sure I have taken a shot of the color picker on the YS&YS HUD, and circled the area I used to sample colors from.  This area, as well as below into the greyish areas is great for finding various skin tones.  Just use the slider on the right to move between light and dark after choosing.  Play with it a bit.

A Busy Week

Riddle Secret Linden

The grid has been a nightmare for me recently, textures take forever to rez, worn prims disappear, then when everything is just right and I try to take a photo, the prims go grey again.  Way too frustrating!

I finally was able to get some blogging done, this outfit comprises some new releases, some event clothing, and a charity item.  March 5 to March 26, Juicybomb is hosting Pure Juice, which features a number of designers.  I’m wearing from that event, The Secret Store’s Juicy Top, in Hot Pink.  It’s also available in Carmine, and French Pink.  Featuring a prim top, with cute black bow empire waist.  Also featured at Pure Juice is Riddle, who made these awesome leather pants, shown here in black, they are also available in brown. I love the texture of them, and they feature prim pant legs.  This is just a tiny sampling of what’s there, click here for a teleport to PureJuice.

My hair and necklace are recent releases from Maitreya, and Mood.  Lotte is a relaxed pony tail with color change ponytail band.  Mood’s Chrysalis necklace and earrings, come with a hud that lets you change the metal from the shade shown here to darker tones. Je Suis has had a sale going on, you might still be able to stop by and binge on jewelry.  I picked out my Magnifique bracelet, I bought the fatpack, which has a set of bangles, and each bangle, or all, can be color changed via hud.  Two stacks are included, preset to be worn on either wrist.

My bear is the Relief L$1000 – Teddy Bear, all proceeds from the sale of this bear go to the ‘Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief efforts of the American Red Cross’.  Click here to view the 2 styles of bear, one sitting, one wearable, available in various prices. For other ways to give inworld, check out the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser which starts March 16th, and Radar magazines Japan Relief Fund Event.

Le Look Osakki!

Osakki @ Le Look

Osakki who I have been bingeing on the past couple of posts such as Osakki Berries, and With Love Plaid, has just released a new collection, and a new location at Le Look!  It’s a stunning looking store.  The designer Kaysha Piers ‘s work this time around has continued with her structured look in form, but from soft sweaters to military bodysuits, and jackets.  It’s a wondrous, contemporary mix of old, and new styles, with fun twists. It’s very hip, very now, and totally Second Life fashion. I especially love her for her variety of leggings.

Osakki - Assassin - Blood

One of my favorites right away was this eye-catching blazer in blood-red, with coordinating corset, leggings, and gloves, called Assassin.  It featured two types of shoulder epaulets.  As I mentioned before she has a variety of leggings,  I was really taken with the fish net leggings I blogged in With Love Plaid.   I have worn them for over a week, so I am quite happy she’s created even more, and hope she just turns these out left and right.  I am sooo into this right now.    [Osakki Mainstore Teleport] Check out my awesome new hair from Exile, this windblown hair is great.  I am in love with browns and auburns and Kavar nailed it.  I love the way it drapes from behind as well.

I also wanted to share that Sasy Scarborough of SasyPants (lol), has created a flickr group of stock images for Second Life users.  Bloggers, photographers, virtual artists, photo pile up enthusiasts are sure to find something interesting to use in this group that is growing and growing.  If you have a love of taking photos, and are always snapping a photo out on location, consider submitting it to this group.  All work submitted is to be used Non Commercially.  You can’t use it to make textures, backgrounds, etc.  You can use it as the background of your store ad, or blog post photo, or pile up, etc.  The group has a lot of potential, so please consider making some backgrounds for others, or use it as your resource for backgrounds.  Check it out Second Life Stock Images, and check out an example of how I used a photo.

Second Life Stock Image (flickr group) Use Example

PLEASE REMEMBER this is NOT a pile up group, so if you submit a photo like a head shot, it can then be used in any manner non commercially by others.  There are groups for pile ups, this is where you get the background you want for it.  Just sayin’  don’t complain when you are the next spoke person for diaper fetish group. Mmmhmm.

Call for Couture – Sneak Peek – Vanitas Vesture

Call for Couture - Vanitas Vesture

Call for Couture - Vanitas Vesture

Second Life –  Call for Couture starts October 10th!  Designers were asked to create a couture item for auction (50% of this auction final price will go to the charity), and a pret-a-porter (ready to wear) variation (not limited edition).   The designs are captivating!  The first design that caught my eye was created by SarahTheRed Aurbierre of Vanitas Vesture.  She’s a talented designer, who was also recently seen at the Wear Grey event.  Her couture item is definitely a hot ticket.  Her designs were inspired by tale of The Walrus and the Carpenter, which next to the Jabberwocky is my most favorite of Carroll’s writings.   Her couture gown is stunning!  A longer gown then her ready to wear version, its skirt is comprised of oysters.

The ready to wear is a knee length dress, with sexy cowl neckline, and backless.  Available in many colors, it was quite hard to choose which I wanted, and I may go back for the rest.  I loved each and every variation.  Shown here I have the Camel which I thought was amazingly chic, all in beige, that graduated to taupe at the skirt.  Featuring an oyster hat perched on my Camelia hair from Dernier Cri, accessorized with jewelry from Zaara, and this lovely skin from eStyle Exquisite, that I can’t wait to get a chance to do a skin blog post on.  My cute G Field Square-toe Shoes complete the look.

The Classic was fun little dress for a warm autumn day.  Starting with the cowl neck in squash that graduates to beige, then to a deep crimson at the skirt.   I played around with it and mixed  the cowl neck top with an apple green high waist skirt from Ingenue shown on the right. Complete with a makeup change but also from eStyle Exquisite, Nantucket Spectators shoes from Surf Couture in a complementary Pumpkin, as is the jewelry from fri.day. I completed the look with this cute hair from Frou-Frou, a nice formal updo that includes 3 styles of hair attachments all themed for fall.  They are a shiny metallic, one created from various hair textures in a variety of shades, and natural textures forming pumpkin, acorn and leaves, in a crown.

Spent last night in school with Sasy, and Fia.  Afterwards spent some time dancing with Sasy at The Deck, listening to 80’s tunes.  She was organizing inventory, while I played in my Meghindo folder some more.   While Hair Fair kept me busy, it can kinda drain ya for blogging, so it’s nice to play a bit before you get back into the swing of things.  I am way over scheduled so I need all the play I can get.   I picked up this great guitar case at Sey,  I have a thing for good band gear, as I am in a band with Sasy, called The Juggernauts.  Sasy plays tambourine, while I play fast and loose.  Sasy says she likes to play tambourine cause when she whacks me on the head with it, it makes a great sound.

This is an outfit called Caval, from Meghindo’s.  Love these long denim boots.  FUCKING sexy right!  The whole outfit consists of these denim boots, a dress, or continuation of the denim boots into jeans that’s beyond hot.  These awesome sequins cape and top, love my hip spikes!  They totally say BACK OFF BITCH. Thank good for Ploom, just sayin, awesome hair, Jade skin from Tuli.  Animations/poses are Cupid Shuffle from some dance store I don’t recall, and a pose by Long Awkward Pose.  My guitar case is from Sey, click change several colors.  They have more versions, plus drum kit bags.

So Sasy and I were out fashion trolling last night.  Usually this evolves into massive binge shopping trips that involves a rotating gaggle of girls, some minor flirting and dragging along of the men we find along the way, and that bleary moment 12 hours later when you log on wondering where the hell all your lindens are, and wtf is all this in your inventory, followed by another couple of hours of trying on clothes and recalling it all over Skype.  Yeah, good times, good times.  This started the same way but ended quickly when Sasy dragged me over to Meghindo Romano’s store appropriately named Meghindo’s.  After combing through the lovely lingerie, the swimwear, the little party dresses,  I turned a corner and saw their outfits.  I died.  I love when designers throw together an entire look.  I love that one easy moment of click wear a folder and being ‘done’.  To throw on their idea of a moment in time, an event, etc.   Meghindo’s does this very well.  She is a very clever designer, using  multiple layers, and layer work to her advantage.  Her jewelry, amazing big earrings, are flexi alpha, which is a fun twist.  Many prim parts are done flexi, and completely different then I have seen before.  She has a several group gifts available, her group only being $250 to join.  One outfit was the coolest outfit, I totally began imaging various places my avatar would wear it to, and what I loved about it were the prim pant legs.  Not your typical sculpts, or old school cones/cylinders they were flexi giving a really nice evening pantsuit touch to it.  I liked the movement.   The jewelry was all on layer available with or without the top.  Very fun effect.  Many of her outfits come with full accessories from shoes, handbag, clothes.  The price range for an entire outfit as shown in my photos runs about what you would be paying if you purchased them as separates, and pulled a unique look together.  I am showing off several of Meghindo’s outfits, and can’t wait to photograph more, they are so fun.  I thought I would show them off playing around with a style of layout I am totally stealing from Eve Kazan at Mademoiselle. She blogged Hair Fair 2010 Recently using this, and my attempt is very amateur in comparison but I liked it enough to wanna play around with it.

I’m wearing hair from Hair Fair 2010 from a new to me store.  I knew about them, but only as they were new sim mates, and holding out on putting out  their hair until Hair Fair. Shown are Natasha Likes Hot Rollers, Natasha Loves Boris, and Riley.  Three formal updos, Riley is their store freebie hair style available in a naturals pack. I love naturals packs, can I say it enough? Shown from left to right from Meghindo’s are Diplomat, Admiral, and Faded.  Shown with Diplomat, is lacey face tattoo from Masquerade Parade.  It comes with several variations, light, dark, and tintable (viewer 2.1+ only).  I can’t wait to play around with my outfits some more, and blog them again, and mix these separates with some other pieces.

Mina Paper Couture

Mina @ Hair Fair 2010

Mina is a store that’s new to me this year, and it’s been fun to get to know them through their offerings this year.   My favorite at the fair is Stacey, which is a very relaxed updo, with attachable ponytail.  It comes with 2 variations of the updo portion, with, and without daisies.  The ponytail itself is also adorned with daisies.  Bonus it’s a charity hair, as well as the Thulani.  Thulani is a versatile unisex hair, as well as the Debbie, which is shown here in Cranberry.   Carice is a soft, mid-length hair, with a bit of a wave to it, very subtle, very nice. Hair Fair 2010 is ongoing through September 19th.  To see what stores or get slurls to it , click here.  For maps of all stores locations on each sim click here.  Check out the inworld demo group to pick up demos!  Know before you go!  This year Hair Fair charity hair styles, and bandana donations go to help pay for custom-made Wigs for Kids.  To get some tips on managing your settings for attendance at Second Life events like Hair Fair click here.

Paper Couture & Mina

Paper Couture & Mina

A while back someone posted a plurk highlight photos of a country wedding they had found on flickr.  We wondered over the splendid photography, and I was determined I would try to emulate some of the principles at play in them.  When I saw Paper Couture’s Crossroads dress, I was sure this was just the dress to attempt for this, partnered with this Stacey hair.  However I envisioned something a little more than what I settled for, as I really just don’t have the time to play around doing a full attempt at shadows in Kirsten.  So here it is, minus the shadows, extra props, lighting, etc, all that can happen another day.   The crossroads dress is a lovely mermaid style dress, with details over the bodice, very simple, very elegant.  It also comes with a grey shrug not shown here.  I have played it simple with the jewelry throwing on a turquoise and silver necklace from Zaara, and a pair of western boots (not viewable) from Adam n Eve, complete with Surf Couture, sheaf of wheat for my mouth.

Clawtooth @ Hair Fair 2010

Clawtooth @ Hair Fair 2010

Bubbles Clawtooth, of the Tableau Clawtooths aka Clawtooth by Clawtooth, has made yummy hairs this year, many of them with a vintage origin.  The French Connection is tres chic, and very nautical at the same time oh la ahoy, viva la resistance!  The beret is texture change which gives you tons of options, and really hugs your head well accenting your bangs/fringe.  Other designs from Clawtooth this year are RockinRolls, a fun victory roll hair, follow up another victory roll hair he did awhile back.  I love it. My Shilova is a chic short hair that I think can go from casual to evening wear. It’s very 1930’s, yet very contemporary.  You’re A Star, is exactly old Hollywood glamour, it begs for a satin gown, and a tiered fur stole with tails.  Turnip Sorbet is Clawtooth’s charity hair, its very waif like, adorable, and versatile.

Mystic Bubbles French Connection

Mystic Bubbles French Connection

I loved the possibilities insinuated by this hair so I paired it with a navy peacoat from en Svale, and headed over to Mystic to take shadow photos.  They were quite fail for me, but luckily Sasy is better then me at it, and took these for me.   I’m also wearing a blue strip turtleneck from Coco, I love the effect of the sculpted bottom portion, specially with this shorter peacoat.  I have absolutely no idea whose shorts I am wearing, and my apologies to the creator.  I am usually able to recall such things easily, and didnt make notes at the time this photo was taken, 1 free item from my store to the first person who accurately names it, and it appears in my inventory.  I am afraid it’s the same with the makeup version of this Chaisuki skin, you will have to try on demos to find it,  it’s most likely in the Vienna line, peach tone, as I have been wearing those alot lately.

Raspberry Aristocrat @ Hair Fair 2010

So in the middle of this, my friends took off to do the Kawaii Hunt and left me on my posestand.   I will remember this.  Today I have Raspberry Aristocrats hair, she was such great find last year, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who waited all year for more hair.   It was well worth the wait considering her 3 Darlas hair is a short bob with 3 variations of bangs/fringe. 3 Darlas is her donation to charity hair, and an excellent deal on top of that.   Continuing the trend at her store she has Halia, Fala, and Solace all in the bobbed hair range.  Fala features a flexi option, Halia is a longer bob (limited time store freebie) , and Solace is an angled cut. Lemondrop and Brooklyn are pulled back pony styles.  Very relaxed, I love the variations of them. I am so glad to see some more hair out of this store. All hair featured is shown in Blonde Flax shade. Raspberry Aristocrat & Ibizaare

Raspberry Aristocrat & Ibizaare

With my Raspberry Aristocrat hair, I have on a new release from Ibizarre.  Get ready to start the fall season with this cute babydoll style sweater with flower print.  I love the knit texture, and the prim work is very cute.  I had some viewer issues that created an issue making the seams derez leaving a flesh toned line where they meet.  I would have them correct from time to time, and even asked some friends on different viewers what they saw, and confirmed this was a rezzing/viewer issue.  The seams are fine. I corrected this by wearing other clothing underneath on all layers to match the tone of the sweater.  Even with a turtleneck and t-shirt I had most of it corrected with a small bit under the arms remaining a problem.  I just ignored it. I have styled the sweater with these cute grey jeans and belt from INDI Designs Freya outfit.  The sweater was so Mod, I had to have a pair of skinny pants.   I accessorized with red as much as I could to really make everything pop.  Red journey.boots, and loop jewelry from fri, day, and bright red gloves from 5th & Oxford were perfect.  I love these gloves, I need to go grab them in all the colors available.  This was a purchase I made for another outfit, and I just don’t want to take them off.  All this red really plays off the red lipstick from the latest skin from Tuli released at The Dressing Room…Helena 02.  I love that my Launa Fauna dimples go perfectly with it.  I picked up this cute tote from Wasted Youth, it comes with a bow option as well.

The Ibizarre Helena Sweater also was part of a release that included matching leg warmers, and capri length leather pants. Shown above I have the whole outfit styled with its matching Helena items, and then also my way.  Available in Black, Brown, Grey and Lilac.  It was hard to separate these from each other for a style post, but I think it worked well.  The Helena cropped leather pants have a great texture, and I can’t wait to mix them into my wardrobe.  The leg warmers come in floral, and plain.  I love the matching knit texture they have, and these would be especially cute over jeans.

Cocktail Hour

Miel @ Hair Fair 2010

Miel @ Hair Fair 2010

It’s cocktail hour for Miel at Hair Fair 2010, with their line up of Cosmo, Martini, and their charity donation hair Mojito.    Cosmo and Martini are classics, and softly styled,  suitable for a variety of looks.   The showstopper is Mojito an amazing prim curly do thats chic, and could still easily be worn on child avatars ala Shirley Temple -ish.    Miel has gone from fashion to including hair at their store this year.  It’s always worth a look when they do a release to see what they have come up with, anything from their recent release of cowboy boots, to sculpted tops.  I am over the moon about some of the curly hairs at the fair this year, and this one of them. Miel’s hairs are available in 5 shades of each color group, Brown, Black, Blonde, Red.  I am wearing the 1 in each shade (cept Black).

I wanted to show of this hair and went for a slim pencil skirt from Ingenue.  Many people disregard systems skirts as relics in sl, I have to tell you thats simply not true.  Pencil skirts in general show off your rear in general, that’s the gimmick, while creating a slim look.  A system skirt will put some junk in your trunk due to the fact it can’t hug your butt cheeks, point blank.  The trick is left to designers at creation to keep the highlighting of the skirt to a minimum.  There should only be enough shading to make some natural wrinkles in the fabric and nothing more, specially near the rear or thighs. With the lower back half of the skirt becoming darker under the buttocks if any shading at all.  Ingenue, a vintage fashion house in Second Life knows the trick and has these lovely Secretary pencil skirts.  They come in a number of muted tones, with jacket layer upper high waist, and a prim option of peplum skirt toppers. I fell in love with them, and bought them all.  I topped off the skirt with this Bourgewhat? top from Veschi, it’s two toned, similarly hued to my skirt, and has prim collar and cuffs that just don’t stop.  I threw on my dream.booties from fri.day in Red, with my Ahi jewelry set from Miel.  I love the makeup on my Bruna skins from Glance, this one is Colour, and I find it really suits this style.
