Glance @ Skin Fair 2013

Glance debuted Anais at Skin Fair 2013.  Anais is available in six skin tones, ranging from a light tan to December, a lovely dark skin. I’ve used December to show the eye-shadows, and lipsticks this skin comes with. The tattoo layer ten eye-shadows give really nice definition and highlights to the lids, and the lipsticks come in ten mattes, and ten glossy versions. The skin is a really nice base to play with makeups on as there is a lot of attention paid to the face. I really liked that I don’t have to touch my shape for any Glance skins. Glance is great at utilizing hint of yellow to the skin which if you are looking for some culturally diverse skins, grab some demos and check these out, I like them as I can wear the lighter tones and still get the slight yellow undertone, that I used to in RL skin. The skins come with big and small cleavage options, and brown, black, or no brow options. Glance also has tango appliers available for the Anais skin.

Glance has recent releases Liu and Lana at Skin Fair. Both feature black, brown, no brow options. Liu also comes with a thin brow option, and Lana has a red and blonde brow option. The brow options are well chosen for the tones they are available in. Both skins feature big and small cleavage options.

I really like Lana on myself next to the Anais personally without changing my shape or hair color, and the three mid range tones it’s available in are really beautiful. I like how it really defines my brow bone on the eyelid, and gives me really great cheek bones. Lana has lovely ten eye-shadows on tattoo layers, and also features pretty lipsticks in ten glossy, and ten mattes.

Liu is a really pretty skin, that suits asian shapes very well, while I am wearing it on my usual shape, I tried it with another shape I have modded specially for the eye area of other asian skins and it was equally good. I really like the ten eye shadows, and how stunning they look with the skin. The skin has ten glossy and ten matte lipsticks. The base Liu skin features a pretty spray of freckles, and shine on the face. Glance includes a no freckle tattoo layer, and a no freckle or shine tattoo layer with them.

Newness @ Maitreya

Maitreya released the Night Life collection of jackets, tops, dresses, skirts, pants, bags, and a new shoe recently. I’m wearing the Mini Skirt, Calgary Clutch, and Shiki shoes in this post. The skirts are nice and high-waisted, and really give a nicely contoured mesh form to your shape. The texturing is lovely and the skirts are available in 3 styles of leathers, Dark Leathers, Used Leathers, and Vivid Leathers, each with 5 tones per style. I’m wearing the Woodrush color in the Used Leathers style.

From the collection I’m also wearing the Calgary Clutch, a nicely textured mesh clutch that’s available in 20 colors, shown here is the Kokoda color. You receive two version of clutches with purchase. The (Alt) version which faces the color/pattern to the outside of the body. and another that faces the front to the inside of the body when worn. I’m wearing the Alt version above. The Shiki shoes feature a tremendous amount of customizing. They come with the usual hud, and I love how it also includes tip-toed bare feet! Just a click, and you’re mesh barefoot! If you buy the shoes as singles, you buy them by the strap color, and the hud comes with 30 platform patterns/designs. If you purchase the fatpack of them, you get the 30 platform patterns/designs and 9 strap colors.

I’ve styled the skirt, and shoes with the VShirt from R.icielli in beigeclair, and layered the League Chiffon Sash in Desert with it. I’m also wearing Maxi Gossamers Tarifa jewelry, it’s mesh, and has 16 colors changeable via click. LeLutka’s fairytale princess inspired hair Jasmine is my hair of choice for this outfit. It features two styles with purchase. The version I am wearing is a pulled back, loose and low chignon that’s very chic. It has an added pony, you can check it out on the LeLutka blog. The hairstyle also comes with Jasmine’s necklace and earrings to complete the look.
If you haven’t heard, Tuli is back! Tuli just released updated versions of 4 of her skin lines; Bella, Claire, Helena, and Sayuri, in 3 skin tones. Read about her return and upcoming plan on the Tuli blog. I’m wearing the new version of Helena in Powder, with the new Gypsy Deviant lipstick layer, and a Tuli eyeliner I’ve had. The skin is soft and pretty, and I’ve missed Tuli!

Twilight Speeds

This has been my wintery outfit favorite this week.  It features a recent release from Erratic, the Vanity Leather Jacket in mesh.  This jacket is great! I love how the designer includes an open and closed version! Two great looks for the price of one!  The jacket is nicely textured, with attention to hems, and is available in a very wide range of colors.  My outfit features the open version in Dark Red, and I’ve layered it over League’s Thermal Dress in White.  I went with the wintery Red Norway knit print of the Wool Tights from d. Select. I’m currently obsessed with Scandinavian knits at the moment and this fit the bill. I’m wearing Maitreya’s Radical Boots in Snow, and mesh jewelry from Maxi Gossamer’s Valencia sets. My hair is a holiday gift from LeLutka & Celoe, called Vent.  It’s a pretty, mesh, long hairstyle, available in the naturals pack. Wear your group title for either group, and teleport to either location, and click the presents under the Christmas tree there to get it.  It includes a chic, vintage hat with feather (not shown), and if you click the tree a beautiful copy of the mesh tree itself.  My skin is new, from Adam n Eve, called Meghan.  I’m wearing tone 3, which is a nice creamy tone, and the Scarlet which has this lovely red lipstick.

Snare

I’m wearing a recent release from Ison, the mesh Geometric Dress in tan, it features two tone chevron-esque details at the shoulders and neckline. I accented this detail with chevron print leggings from League, from the Folklore Leggings set, called Ziggy. My hair is a release from earlier this month by Exile.  The Beyond The Waves mesh hairstyle features a seperate attachment of flowers to be worn with.  It’s a really pretty style, click here for the post on Exile’s website about it to see the flower option.  I’m wearing it in Rio from the Fusion pack for a toned fade. My clutch is the mesh Envelope Clutch from Mon Tissu, it features two attachment points, under the arm, and a hand attachment. It’s chic, and I love the trim detail. I’m also wearing a new item from Ohmai, a cute mesh bee ring I picked up at the Bees Through the Seasons event.

Today, Celoe released their Snare Ankleboot!  This mesh ankleboot is hot, put together with leather, in a wedge style, with wood heel simulating a traditional heel.  So amazing to look at, serious shoe porn.  I am in love with the leather straps that fit around the wood from the leather wedge, not to mention the zipper down the back of the shoe. The Snare Ankleboot is available in 8 colors shown above.

Nevermore

The Secret Store and Nyu released the mesh Fall Babydoll Dress last week. I’ve been saving it for the right moment, and Halloween is my inspiration!  It’s a cute mesh dress will full sleeves, and cute lace collar.  I’ve paired it with Izzie’s Overknee Socks in white, with LeLutka’s Pow Pumps in black.  One of my favorite accessories in Second Life happens to be League’s Raven Necklace.  It’s gothic, yet cute with the ribbon ties at the back.  It features ribbon ties in cream, cadet, and black, with the metal work around the raven’s head in silver, and old silver. They’re all very subtle but  it makes a difference when you style an outfit. I added The Secret Store’s Girly Briefcase in black, Izzie’s Claw Nails, and am wearing Wasabi Pill’s Christy Hair, from The Costume Ball again. I’m wearing Ploom’s Harlowe skin in Milk.  This skin tone is so pretty, and the eye makeup is nice and heavy with flourish on the eyes. It’s available at the Zodiac event for the Scorpio session.  My picture features Lisp’s Asylum Raven Chair. This chair is chic texture with a raven, and features two ravens.  Very gothic, very chic.

Memories

I’m wearing two new items from Ploom, the mesh Cynthia hair, which is available in the store, and the Lea Libra skin from the Zodiac event.  I love the eye makeup, it’s a fun playful look.  I’m also wearing a partial mesh slipdress from PaperDoll, which is available at Fair.  It’s available in a variety of fun playful colors. I went with my L’Aph ballet flats, which a really nicely textured mesh flats, in a duo tone of Green and Camel.

Trompe Loeil recently released the mesh Morning Light Cupboard Bed at Fair.  It’s a new event, and for more information check out the blog.  This bed, has several shelves for decorating.  I’ve decorated the interior with some of my most favorite little items, many limited editions, and items no longer available, so I won’t list them.  The bed comes in two versions, filled with single, and couples PG animations/poses, and Adult.  There are several different choices of bed linen textures available.  The outside wood frame and the inner wood surround are in a light grey wood texture, and since the item is modifiable, makes it a great item to select for your home as you can tint it to match your mood, and decor. As you can see, tinting adds a nice unique touch, you can go from cute to dramatic. Here’s a variety of ways I tinted two versions, the Rose, and Blue Thistle. If you are unfamiliar with tinting, please see the end of my post for a quick tutorial. I’m using a different sit pose that isn’t included in the bed.

How to Tint Prims

Firstly, sorry some of my text and photos are small or blurry.  You can click through to see larger sizes on flickr, or follow along with the text instructions below.

1. Go into Edit Mode on an object, by right clicking it, and selecting Edit from the menu.

2. The Edit Window should be elongated, if you have a small window, look for a MORE button, or the thin bar at the bottom with a “v”, and click it.

3. Your default look in Edit Mode (unless you have recently been in the other edit mode tabs) is the General Tab, to the right of it is the Textures Tab – click it.

4. On the top part of your window there will be a small box with text: Edit Linked Parts , click this to select individual prims of your object to tint.

5. You now see your texture editing options.  If you were going to put a different texture on this item you would drag the texture to the texture box or click it to browse for it in your inventory.  We’re tinting, so we will use the Color Box instead. Click the prim you wish to tint, then click the Color Box.

6. Make sure your Apply Now box is check-marked. Now, your Color Picker window is open, and you can see the rainbow color box, you can move your cursor around to find different colors.  The bar on the right lets you slide  up and down the shade for each color.  The color you are currently using is displayed in the larger color box, if you like this color and want to use it on other prims you can drag it to your color bar.

7. Click the ok to close the color picker window, and then x to close the edit window.  Or select another prim to tint, then close.

Order Caramel On All The Things

Miel’s Fifty Linden Friday item was the mesh Jersey Top and Skirt.  Shown here is the top in the bright pack, which includes a color change hud with 6 colors. I layered underneath Boom’s Ever High-Waisted Skirt in Neutral. Vanity Hair recently released the mesh Briton College hairstyle.  It’s worn with a hair base and sits back on the crown, with blunt cut length. I accessorized with Milk Motion’s mesh studded clutch, which is currently available at The Arcade.  The Arcade is a gatcha event, and you can find more information about them on their blog  The Arcade. I’m also wearing League’s Wanderer set, which features tons of options as to number of strands, and the number of discs or not in the jewelry.  My Maitreya Radical boots are from the suede set, and I love this shade.

Hair Fair 2012 – Clawtooth

Bubbles Clawtooth released four long hair styles at Hair Fair 2012.  I’ve been so busy for such a long time, I haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy some Clawtooth hair even though Bubbles is very active in releasing hairs. Shame on me, cause I love Clawtooth, and apparently I have really been missing out.  So while I help organize and build Hair Fair, depriving myself in the process of hair, it makes it all worth it’s still exciting for me.  The release included 2 long loose hairstyles, one featuring a lovely victory type curl/swoop, and 2 braids that were whispy about the face.

Somewhere between Driftwood and Bellflower

After a long day of working on Hair Fair 2012 details, I had so much fun getting dressed today with a variety of new and old pieces.  R.icielli just released a collection of mesh items.  Handbags, jumpsuits, skirts, and tops in a large variety of colors.  You have to see the high-waist leather skirts!  Here I have paired one of their minitops in Pearl with a new skirt from Boom available at Collabor88.  The top is made for high-waisted skirts available in the collection, and I think for many of my high-waisted bottoms it should work well.  I was even able to wear it with this cute skirt from Boom, by also using my League vintage chiffon belt.  I heavily layered 3 necklaces, by starting with my most recent purchase of the Agate Slice Necklace from Yummy, which I also picked up at Collabor88.  It’s a chunky pendant on a thin long chain, and I loved the added gems.  I’ve been all over the place shopping this weekend, from Collabor88 to the new releases at The Dressing Room Blue where I picked up this cute hairstyle called Paige from Exile.

I recently assembled this party attire for a celebration.  I wanted something somewhat youthful, fun, and full of life, and I think this dress from Mimikri was perfect.  I love that my favorite pair of heels from LeLutka in Soft Blush were a perfect match.  I went with League’s Raven Necklace for jewelry, I really love this piece as it reminds me of a pair of antique earrings I want in real life.

Alphabet Challenge-E

Letter E in Willow Zander’s Alphabet Challenge was a challenge! I spent a great deal of time working out various looks with shoes that had an E.  Getting the right combination was finally solved when I settled on starting with En Svale‘s Cowichan sweater, and based my look from there.  That settled it was fun to use many items I had tucked away, like these earmuffs from artilleri, and this knit hat from epoque. I love this bag from Tokidoki and would love to have it in real life. My skin is Eva from Tuli, and worn with eye-makeup from Elymode.  Elikatira‘s secret boots were perfect, and felt I needed to add some socks from League in ecru, as my legs looked cold in my denim skirt from Emery with out them.

September Day

September is here, and I put together a casual look for it.   If you hadn’t already heard, Mesh has gone gridwide! I am amazed to hear many people haven’t heard the news.  You can download the new viewer (Viewer 3) that supports Mesh from Linden Labs, if you’re a fan of third party viewers Kirstens also has Mesh viewer (Kirstens S21(9).exe), and V1 lovers…Astra Viewer is mesh with V1 layout (no added layers of V2). I can never get the website to load lately direct download at this link.  If you’re using any other viewer you will not be able to render mesh items correctly.  For some great tips on making your own custom alpha layers, which will be really handy for modding mesh to your shape, or if you are using Astra, check out this easy tutorial Sasy put together here.  Free gimp download (it’s like photoshop, if you don’t have it) here.

I’m wearing mesh shorts from Jane. Jane put together a fairly large release of mesh clothing. Definitely worth stopping by to grab demos! They bend well with the body, and I loved the colors they came in, a cute look. Bukka just released the cutest boots, and they are available now in store, or grab them in the lucky chair!!!  To make it even better, they have a 50% off sale going on! I didn’t wait for the lucky chair as another W was waiting, instead I snagged them half price! As well as the cute jacket I am wearing which came with this cute fur scarf.  The boots are color changeable via hud and worth the full price.  I mixed in a the Ribbon Tied Tanktop in faded red from League, which features prim prims which you cant see in this photo, as well as the cute Wanderer Earrings she made.  I topped off with new hair from LeLutka, Oscar is a fun hair if you loved the Rykiel, you will love this, with extra braided pony tail attachment.  I love the attention to detail on this. I’m wearing new eyes from Amacci, who just released tons of new eyes called Gaze Eyes.  These are moss green, and I love them to death. Can’t wait to try out the many other shades she has.  Ploom has new poses out too, go see!

Me. released five hair styles at Hair Fair 2011.  Shown above giving you an idea of available options, Brooke on the far right composed of three photos showing the hair with and without options.  Solid on top, with highlights in the middle, with feather accessory on bottom.  All the hairs are hud controlled, allowing you to choose your base tone, add highlights if you like, and play with the accessories either on/off or color.

Hair Fair 2011 – (Red)Mint

(Red)Mint released three hairstyles at Hair Fair 1011.  I really like their hair textures, and found their satin blond to be my favorite.  With this outfit I’m wearing Hair No. 09 in black, I loved the flow, and messy look.  My outfit’s ‘base” is the Chic Bodysuit from Nemesis.  I love the top of the suit with the prim sleeves, and the urban skyline graphic on the torso.  I paired it with the skirt from IT Dress from Ladies Who Lunch which is a fun feathered skirt.  I’ve accessorized with League’s Raven Necklace,  fun eyelashes from Sky Everett Designs, and a cool drummer’s case from Sey.  The stockings from artilleri’s Naughty or Nice outfit are perfect for this.

A Busy Week

The grid has been a nightmare for me recently, textures take forever to rez, worn prims disappear, then when everything is just right and I try to take a photo, the prims go grey again.  Way too frustrating!

I finally was able to get some blogging done, this outfit comprises some new releases, some event clothing, and a charity item.  March 5 to March 26, Juicybomb is hosting Pure Juice, which features a number of designers.  I’m wearing from that event, The Secret Store’s Juicy Top, in Hot Pink.  It’s also available in Carmine, and French Pink.  Featuring a prim top, with cute black bow empire waist.  Also featured at Pure Juice is Riddle, who made these awesome leather pants, shown here in black, they are also available in brown. My hair and necklace are recent releases from Maitreya, and Mood.  Lotte is a relaxed pony tail with color change ponytail band.  Mood’s Chrysalis necklace and earrings, come with a hud that lets you change the metal from the shade shown here to darker tones. Je Suis has had a sale going on, you might still be able to stop by and binge on jewelry.  I picked out my Magnifique bracelet, I bought the fatpack, which has a set of bangles, and each bangle, or all, can be color changed via hud.  Two stacks are included, preset to be worn on either wrist.

Plastik Lamb

Plastik Lamb

I recently visited Plastik to pick up their Shredder dress in black, which was in the front of the store for a reduced price, and found this denim dress in brown.   It was difficult to choose a color, as Plastik’s designer, Aikea Rieko, provides items in a wide variety of colors, textures, and even variations in style per item.  This particular dress is available for purchase with this bodice undone as shown, or closed, both separately.  I was in love with how this store has such vivid, rich, saturated tones

League’s Old Antique Brown Belted Leather Jacket was a great addition.  Nena Janus is very good with the level of detail she pays to her clothing, and this jacket is a good example of it.  Her distressed leather texture is rich, and finely detailed.  The jacket is available in long, medium, and short (shown here), with options for slim prim sleeves, and thick ones.  Included are matching gloves.  Prim collar and arm belts are well constructed, and League’s items are mod, so a good fit is assured.

I spent way too much time playing in my boot folder before deciding on Maitreya’s Billow Boots in brown,  the style of them balanced out the outfit.  These boots are a favorite (ok yeah I know, all boots are my favorite, I love boots).   Maitreya is known for their detailed textures, and good design, if you haven’t tried them before, you owe it to yourself to grab some demos.  These boots are available in a variety of colors.

My hair from Lamb named Milk was picked up at the latest $50L Friday promotion is my current obsession.  Available in a variety of colors, this particular one was part of the promotion which included two hairs, Black with red running through it, and this one called Pale, which made me giggle when it rezzed because of the darker roots.  I have grown to like it in the past 24 hours quite a lot, and would love to see this as a permanent texture for the store its giggly awesome…along with my usual requests/pleas to designers to make a “Naturals Pack”, that includes a Black, Brown, Blonde, and Red shade.  You have to admit if someone was gonna made dark roots on platinum hair, Lamb nailed it.   The style itself is very lovely, a small braid across the top, and it’s a long hair style, and Lamb has done it all prim, so its static, but it IS mod so you can adjust it easily.

Accessories I am wearing are Armidi’s Niama Necklace, which is a nice full necklace, tons of prim work here shown in White Gold.  Armidi has excellent jewelry textures, their gold not being yellow or too brassy.    I also used part of another purchase I made at Plastik, from their Infinity Dress, the leg strings.  These are great as they are on the sock layer, and no extra prims to even think about modding.

Tuli has been sidelined by Real Life at the moment, leaving us all in great suspense for her Bella skin.  This I have from the Skin/Shape Expo earlier this month. Awesome skin, 2 push up options on it, read the post here.   I would love to cite what poses I used, but completely forgot!  I suspect, Leafy, Maitreya, Long Awkward Pose, and KS Creations possibly.
