Frou Frou released 5 hair styles at Hair Fair 2012. Four updos are great for runway, editorial, and formal dress and an angled bob with a ribboned rolled hair piece. Frou Frou also has a gift hairband, that is the ribbon and rolls element that is on three of the styles, to mix in with your hair.
I’m wearing portions of an outfit called Tremolo Staff from Bare Rose. Not shown are the shoes, leg ribbons, shoes, and hair bow. The skirt is kinda genius, the top two layers are sculpted so it holds it’s form, the bottom ruffles are flexi prims with glow, it’s a great effect. This outfit also includes a white version with purchase. Tremolo Staff is a musical term and there are several other complimentary outfits with similar names in that theme, like Staccato, etc. My boots are mesh and from LeLutka, with rivet, lace, and heel color options via hud. My stockings are from !gO!, the pack included brown, and beige as well for a great price. They have really nice texturing, and feature prim bows around the top.
Hair Fair 2012 is ongoing through July 29th. All styles featured at the fair have a percentage of proceeds being donated to Wigs For Kids. A wide variety of stores are participating ensuring something for everyone. Join the inworld Hair Fair Demo group to receive hair demos before you go! For more information visit the Hair Fair blog.
This outfit was more about obsession then fashion. I mixed all the things I love right now, from knee socks, to layering a shorter top on a longer one. Textures are also important, the idea of this red wool skirt, with the leather boots, with the heavier fabric of the vest, with the lighter feel of the LeLutka shirt. All colors understated, yet holding their own coming together to make a statement.
I couldn’t do a series on my favorite jeans, without covering some of my favorite denim skirts. I have consolidated all of these together in one post featuring the same tops, and accessories. This is a very fun, casual look. The sculpted Aoharu denim shirt is worn over my Bandana dress from Tuli, that is getting double duty as a halter. The Aoharu shirt comes with the belt, but I am also wearing another belt from DeLa’s Daisy skirt, which I think plays up my bracelets from YourShape. Together they suit the Bandana print, with the denim. My boots are Bax’s prestige boots in red, they come with variations in shade, boot cuff, metal finishing. I love to wear them with denim, and have blogged them previously with them.
The skirts are from a wide variety of stores, BettePage, LeLutka, Maitreya, Muism, and Emery. The angled skirt is Muisms, and comes in this longer style, and straight across shorter length. I love the movement on it. LeLutkas has a lot of structure to it without sculpts. I love the denim textures, and the length. Maitreya, and Emery’s both feature sculpted skirt parts, short in length and good distressed denim look. BettePage’s is another midlength with good movement, and distressing. I am wearing Tuli’s Gina skin from a previous run at The Dressing Room, and my hair is a new release from Mirai Style. She’s has 3 new hairs in the front of the store, I have no idea when they were released but they still say NEW. ;P To see which skirt is which, click through to my flickr photo, and hover your mouse over the image to see the name of the stores.

Considering how much time we view, and appear grey in-world, one takes a liking to it after a time. While I have always liked grey, the smokier the better, I have learned to appreciate the fine mid tones too, even light grey to white. Greys can be sophisticated rather then blah, especially if you learn to layer and use the tones to your advantage, to ‘ground’ your outfit so you don’t wash out your skin, even as shown here against a lighter backdrop of aquas, whites, and pastels.
I have this lovely Emilia turtleneck sweater in white from DeLa, that’s been a nice addition to the wardrobe. It pairs well with their grey skirts, and pants alike. The sculpted sleeves on this really make for a nice top with great shape. Gisaci (Armidi) Journey Tweed Slacks come in a variety of colors, are shown here in Grey, they also have a lovely silver. Armidi makes great pants, and these with their lovely prim pant legs with cuffs are made by Hudson Armidi aka Emma Gilmour of Sand Shack Surf Co. So if you love these as much as I, you will have to also get over there and see what she has in her own personal store of casual wear, if you have snagged all the ones at Armidi.
I love how the Armidi-Gisaci Focsani Bag’s tones work with the tones of the pants, its a nice bag, and I have found it easy to mod its thickness too to make it more wearable on the shoulder too. It doesn’t come with a shoulder version so you will have to copy, mod, and reattach yourself, but its worth the small fuss to have more opportunities to play with your look.
Another great way to play with your look are the PrimOptic glasses. I’m wearing the Globe2. These are scripted color change glasses, that allow you to change the lens, and frames to work with your clothing. Very affordable, multipurpose too considering they come with Radar, Flight Enhancer, and Online Status Monitor built in, check them out on Xstreet. A quick word about wearing gadgets. If you already wear a tool that has flight assist in it, and its something you wear all the time, like a MystiTool, you may find that it will conflict. So turn off your flight assists in glasses, shoes, or other items when you wear them.
My belt is from Cubic Effect, and is sculpty yumminess. I liked it so much I bought the pack of them. Modifiable so its easy to custom fit it, its one of the great belts on the grid that are low in prim, or prims near the sides and back so you can easily fit it. <might wanna grab some coffee while I rant here a moment> There is nothing worse then trying to do this via resize scripts too. I hate that. I like to mod ‘old skool’ style, cause I got mad skillz. Seriously folks, hand modding is becoming a lost art. One day those of us that CAN are not gonna help you in protest of all the resize scripts out there. They are ok for a few things but keep them out of hair, belts, and other items. Learn to do it yourself. I don’t care if you can delete the scripts or not, why bother, when you can learn to mod, and get basic building skills along the way that will enhance your Second Life. I mean come on, you learned some basic skills growing up in RL, Second Life isn’t much different. <end rant> I love these belts so much, I just wish Cubic Effect did Copy/No Trans perms, instead of No Copy/Trans. Ooh, or the option of either at purchase.
Bax’s Ankle Boots here in black patent are another great wardrobe addition to own. Bax’s come scripted with resize (not a bad resize script in it either), walk that’s also easily disabled, and options to change the top of your boot adding lace etc. I love the heel on these, and they look great worn with pants, just wear the foot, and base, but not the leg attachment if you want to wear them with prim pant legs.
ICoN was a fun find, I wandered into their outlet at Emery while shopping and was stunned. I snagged most of their jewelry, and here I am wearing Necklace. I know a bit of a plain title for it, but there ya go. It comes with both Gold and Silver in the same purchase so its really a nice deal. I found it needed no modding at all, which is nice when you have this many prims. /me puts fingers in ears to cover up people say this is why resize scripts are so nice. I can’t hear you , and yeah I would still attempt to mod by hand. 😛 Check out this necklace on Xstreet, and the designer, junko otsuka’s store ICoN on Xstreet here. You’ll fall in love, I swear!
I am wearing one of Truth’s latest hair releases the Amber in Auburn. It’s a lovely windswept/feathered look. Truth’s color packs come in several shades per pack, and his Ginger pack is too die for, the Auburn and Pumpkin are my favs. I am also wearing a lovely skin I picked out at Belleza. I love their Belle line they are soft not overly harsh, and well done. Shown here in Smoky Mocha make-up. Belleza’s Belle comes with two styles of bikini wax, and I love having an option.
I can’t quite recall how I came about finding Glamurena Studios, I know i had been in search looking for something and randomly tp’d. So glad I did, as this was quite a find. I immediately snagged some eyes (not shown here today), skin demos (also not blogging today, but go grab some demos), but I did snag their luscious silk blouse in creme, and loved it so much I went back for hair, another shirt, and my favorite witch outfit! But first check out my new toy, thanks to Kari and Torridwear. A group gift, this perfect witches broom was delivered just as I had discovered my old one wasn’t working. Filled with great Torrid anims featuring several flying poses, sits, etc. Someone asked me which group it had been in and after sorting through my emails I can confirm its in the Kari update group, and the Torridwear update group, all tucked inside a cute pumpkin too!
Glamurena Studios‘s Halloween Pumpkin set was exactly what I was looking for in a witch costume. Funky Orange and Black striped stockings and gloves with garters, peasant style bodice with prim princess sleeves, tight well textured corset, and a feathery, fringy black skirt that shows the perfect amount of leg. Included a undershirt of cobwebs, and a Witch Hat with sculpty pumpkins, that paired with my latest shoe acquisition the Bax Boot from Bax Coen in Black Patent Leather fully scripted with walks, color change heels, tips, eyelets, and even add on lace in a variety of colors I was set to go. Glamurena Halloween Pumpkin set also comes in a lovely purple shade as well. Shown with ETD‘s new release Vasha in chestnut; Celestial Studios Deviant Nation – Vogue Skin – Cashmere (Vamp – Enchant); and Scarlia Inc’s Flame Eyes Version 2.
The silk blouses come with prim collar and sleeves, and are lush in details and color, on the jacket layer, I paired mine shown in Chocolate and Cream with their JeansOpera Light Blue Jeans which are well done, and prim pant legs I really like. Shown with ETD‘s Davina II in Copper; BAX Ankle Boot Black Patent; Celestial Studio‘s Vogue Skin – Cashmere (Noir – Glitter) Freckled.
I really love this store, and I have only one complaint..well two..1. Need more clothes 2. Multiple Layer options. The designer Kauri Darkstone is turning out a superb design, she’s got skills, talent, and an eye for detail and does amazing seam work, they are perfect!. But the layer options are only on the jacket layer for the silk blouse and the corsets. I am begging everyone who likes this store to please send a nice note asking for her to consider doing items on the Jacket, Shirt, and Undershirt Layer, so we can wear them more. I had also been thinking I could wear the corset and skirt from the witch dress with other items, the corset yes, but the skirt I will have to make glitch pants for as the bottoms for the skirt are on the same layer as the stockings. I was also looking to get a corset thinking I could wear it on the shirt layer, with a open jacket over it, but alas not these. The corset are very well done, and I want one of each.
Glamurena Studios currently has two hair styles out, both with attached hats. Shown here is the BonBon Hair Brown Tones(V0.2) pack which contains 2 shades. The hat itself is scripted with various winter/fall colors, even stripes! The texture and detail is again superb. I paired with the Glamurena jeans, and Strayer‘s group gift the Halloween Sweetshirt.
I have two sets of eyes I want to share from Scarlia Inc, I have many more and will be blogging/reviewing them in small allotments due to SL/RL fun glitches. I used the Flame eyes for my witch outfit they are perfect for Halloween fun. I noticed that about the eyes from this store they are fun mixes of color and shadow, you will be surprised! Definitely worth a stop to check them all out. Shown here are Flame, and Wintergreen notice the 4 graduations in shade, and how stunning each are. Nice flecks, and overall good sized, and realistic looking..outside color that is..LOL..If only RL could give us these eyes!
