Wasabi Pills released 3 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2016. Their hairstyles are available in a wide variety of shades, and if you haven’t checked out the store in a while, they recently updated textures, and broadened their range. Great hair, lots of movement, waves, and well put together.  The high up pony style – Marceline comes with an accessory hud to change the color of your pony tail band. Wasabi Pills is located here on the Backlot West Sim.

Hair Fair 2016 runs July 16th through 31st. Featuring 80+ hair creators of Second Life, each hair sold donates a percentage to Wigs For Kids. Each sim also contains Bandana Booths featuring bandanas made by residents of Second Life. Bandana’s are limited edition, $50L each, with 100% of price going to Wigs for Kids.

Zalea released four hairstyles at Hair Fair 2016. Zalea hair is fatpack only, at a single hair price point! Fantastic deal if you like to switch it up often and wear many different colors. My favorite is Daisy, I love the waves.  Zalea also has a gift hair – Fiona, which features lovely bangs (not featured). Included are also a pair of shoes. Hairology has opened, it’s a new monthly event exclusively for hair! It will run every month from the 10th, to the 30th. Designers will feature at least 1 exclusive new hair. This isn’t a discounted event, just a fantastic new way to shop new releases for hair! Currently this event has 35 hair stores participating! I’m wearing Mithral Apothecary’s Arrowroot hair from Hairology, a lovely long hair style with a bit of wave. So, I put together this outfit with some new and old clothes I have. It’s for a chilly, but not too chilly fall day. I’m really into layered textures (fabric – not photo) and this makes the cut for me. I’ve titled my post as I usually do after a song title, it’s an instrumental by a band called Bag Raiders, I recently found. It was kinda odd to change my blog title after the fact, to include “some WP/Flickr tips”, which might have left people saying “whut?” to the Prelude.

When typing up this post, I noticed Flickr has recently changed, providing only the BBCode, instead of BBCode and HTML. This was irksome, and I am not happy, but whatever. Flickr has really gone downhill since Yahoo purchased it, and the new changes have not been user friendly. I don’t think they really grasp how people use Flickr.  So, faced with new change, I found a code converter.  BBCode to HTML will let you do exactly what the title says. Just grab your BBCode, and paste it into the box, check mark any settings you want and convert! Voila! Copy and paste your HTML into the Text Tab, and go back to the visual tab and hello!  This does leave the name and account holder info underneath your photo. It could easily be removed if you are more HTML savvy than I, but, after consideration I think I like it. It easily, and quickly cites the photo reference. Many times friends and I will blog each others photos when we do posts together and this makes sure everything will get properly cited. If your citation appears as close as mine by the photo, at the end of my GIF you see I put my cursor in front of the title of my photo, what isn’t shown is I hit enter so it would appear below my photo.

You can still select the HTML in the Embed Tab on Flickr, however it has a string of HTML that looks a mess on blogs that you have to use. Just don’t select any of the options like banner, header, etc. Select your size and copy paste. Or just you the BBCode – HTML.

See my animated gifs below for a reference as to how it works. The website also shows simple HTML codes that you may find useful to know for a fast edit.

While I’m at it…I know some people haven’t really used HTML within Flickr before, and they’ve also made it hard to find this information when it used to be right there under the description box under your photo. But I was slick enough to save the link to the Flickr: Allowed HTML page for future reference. Should this link ever become disabled, refer to the below screen shot. (I’m an old dog who doesn’t like new tricks – sometimes) At least this will be handy until we get used to BBCodes. This HTML is for use on Flickr for formatting your descriptions on your Flickr photos.  I’m also including two samples of how you might find this useful. It’s nice and tidy.

Hair Fair 2015 – Vanity Hair

Vanity Hair released 5 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2015. Their booth is located on the Noirette sim.  All hair shown here from the All Red Pack. Vanity Hair includes a materials enabled version.  I’m wearing all hairs with the included on skin/applier hair base that is part of my The Skinnery London skin, although Vanity Hair did include hair bases. Vanity Hair did a really pretty and chic updo called Jumper. Its nice a smooth against the head, with volume in the back. La Espanola is a pretty updo with side buns. Its chic, and would fantastic with added headpieces as well. Like Smoke is a loose long twist to the front, with tendrils astray.  Never Wanted U is a wavy messy crop with bangs. Its cute, and full of volume and character. Stoned Love is a long hair with waves in the back. Lots of crown volume, and would also be fantastic if you have headpieces, crowns, and headbands you like to wear. All the hair styles can run from chic to sweet depending on how you style them.

Hair Fair 2015 runs until July 26, 2015. Featuring 75 hair creators of Second Life, each hair sold donates a percentage to Wigs For Kids. This year is a celebrate of 10 years of Hair Fair, with each store providing a gift in their booth.  Each sim also contains Bandana Booths featuring bandanas made by residents of Second Life. Giving Up The Ghost

League just released the Milla skin/makeup appliers for the LeLutka mesh heads.  There are two sets per tone available, each with a selection of eye-makeup and lipsticks.  Also each set comes with a freckled version. League also released a moles/beauty marks appliers with several different mole/beauty marks locations, in a variety of sizes, plus (and I love this) the ability to mirror them to the opposite side of the face.  I’m wearing a pale eye makeup with pale lips from freckled Set 1, plus beauty marks on LeLutka’s Ever mesh head, with this pretty hair from Clawtooth available at Collabor88.

I’m wearing a chic printed romper from Purple Moon I picked up from ON9.  There are several sets and you get a hud that has several versions of color prints.  I’m also wearing necklace and matching earrings from Maxi Gossamer currently at Collabor88, which I like best, options are good.  My shoes are a nice favorite from Glamistry.  Getting the fatpack is great for making sure you can really customize as much as possible to have the perfect shoe at all times.

LeLutka is releasing another trio of mesh heads – Stella, Lotte, and Karin.  I’m wearing Lotte with Izzie’s Sophee skin and makeup appliers for them.  My favorite tone at Izzie’s is sunkissed, and I’m wearing the freckles option on my Maitreya Lara Body.  I’ve tried on all three heads, and each I like, and have no preferences yet for them. I am partial to Lotte so far.  As with many mesh heads you will need to adjust your shape’s eyes.  So make a copy of your shape, with the adjustments for your head folder.  I find that different heads require different measurements sometimes.  With Lotte you will need to adjust more so.  My eye spacing is 48, I could have gone about 46-48 on the sliders, and my eye opening is 30.  The mesh heads are also affected by changes on the head length and stretch sliders in Edit > Shape.  So play around with it while you demo.  Skin and makeup designers have been releasing LeLutka mesh head appliers with skin/makeup, or makeup options.  If you’re a makeup creator, you can find a developers kit free, on the table in the mesh heads section of LeLutka to get started creating makeup appliers for them.  Stella, Lotte, and Karin will be released on April 30th, 2015 at 9AM SLT time (that’s SECOND LIFE TIME aka USA PACIFIC TIME so GMT-7/8 depending.).  I’ve demo’d all of them and I have to say they’re really beautiful. They have a more youthful feel to them then the earlier trio, and easily transition from uber glam to soft dreamy looks.

I’ve spent the past week out and about going to lots of events like Shiny Shabby, and doing the TAG! Gacha.  Lot’s of fun new things out! I’ve set up an outdoor camp with many of my newest things, like Ison’s Travelling Star set, and a few things from various gachas like 8f8, and Zerkalo. Of course I have a bevy of Fashionably Dead Cats running amuck through it.  My trees and grass are from Studio Skye, they have been my first stop lately for all manner of nature, and my horizon is a (sim) edge landscape from Landscapes Unlimited that’s a favorite of mine at the moment – the Rolling Hills. I’ve got the Gold version which lets me choose terrain, trees, etc, and its the edge version so it runs along the side of a sim. I don’t have mine off sim like many use them for, but within the sim so I can add more trees etc to the hills and I also like to reduce the height of trees I add to exaggerate the suggestion of distance. I could link them and make them all off sim, but I change them out so much I don’t bother. I love these horse props and poses I picked up at Focus Poses. With each set of poses you get a horse, with menu driven poses, and texture change mesh horse! I found the horse was a tad low poly for my photos so I heavily edited it. Sari-Sari’s Apples pose set worked great, and it comes with mesh apples as well.

Whirlwind – Someone’s On the Loose

Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!)

So..yeah..my anti-valentine post…to the tune of Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!) by Blu Cantrell. LeLutka released tons of new hair, and by tons I mean 3 hairstyles, and a free fatpack gift hair for the LeLutka group all in new textures! Sheena is the group gift hair, and comes in a fatpack of their new updated tones. I am so in love with the new hair textures. With each hud you pick you get a 8 base colors,  8 roots version, 8 dipped versions, and 8 dipped with roots. So join the group, and try out all the new shades. I really liked this dipped one I’m wearing from the Dim Pack, on the new Kayla style, which has a nice range of muted tones. If you are a naturals pack kinda girl like I am you will also like their Range Pack which features a natural tones variety, along with the as above, roots, dipped, and dipped with roots. The ginger pack was also nice it had 3 of my favorite red tones. They’ve also extended their color range with the Crayon and Vivid, and Void. The new hair is at the landing point at Lelutka.

I’m also wearing Baiastice’s Cleo Sweater, and Nayra Skirt which are available at Collabor88. I mixed up the colors to keep to the muted tones of my hair, and and offset my Doll V2 Vamp skin from Pink Fuel. While I originally had this skin in peach, I was poking around Mochi’s Flickr page, and saw this tone which is also available for a variety of bodies, and body parts, and had to have it. I’m wearing the Slink version on my Physique body, and Visage Becky head, and Avatar Enhancement Feet & Hands.  I’m also wearing a tiara from Eclectica, assorted jewelry from Maxi Gossamer Jewelry. The items in my photo are a hodge podge assortment of things that were rezzed out at my studio. I initially was going to do a location shot when I realized my shadow settings had reset and instead of fighting with them, I ran back to my studio where I have more control over my lighting. These were all out from unpacking, and so I left them cause I like how they look together. There are some items from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival going on right now, which Sasy, Ashia, and I spent yesterday at picking up some cool things, and a few things I recently picked up here and there.

My Attic just opened and the theme this round is Temptation.  My store W. Winx, collaborated with Flair for tempting poses for the theme.  Also in My Attic is Elymode with her Xandra outfit. It comes with all the layers, and appliers you will need for bodies: Slink Physique, Maitreya Lara, TMP, Belleza Venus, and an Omega HUD. They’re available in five colors, I’m wearing the Grey/Purple set. They have a variety of variations like Jumper, high-waist shorts, long top, short top, and shorts –I’m wearing the short top and shorts.  Another release at My Attic, is YS&YS’s Frida smokey skin plus Slink Visage appliers in skin tones 2, 3, and 4. They include a base skins, and hair bases that you can also tint., as well as lipstick layers in Nude, Red, and Blood.

I’m also wearing the Babette Hip Chain from Maxi Gossamer, in Black/Silver with optional tassel. My rings, are Izzie’s new Midi Rings. They’re mesh, and made to fit the Slink Avatar Enhancement Hands. She’s also fitted them to the various styles of hands.  My shoes are a recent release from Glamistry, the Eranthis Heels. They’re hot, and have cute little wing, and heart charms on them, and feature a wide variety of color choice combinations via HUD. I recommend the fatpack.
