A mish mash of some recent releases, with some favorites thrown in. Bodysuit by Maitreya, this color only available at The Dressing Room. The Dressing Room for those who haven’t heard is a discount shop, featuring discounted items made by various stores. Always worth a stop! Currently they have a Tuli skin, and this awesome body suit, other colors/tones available at those stores main. Zaara recently had a sale, check to see if its still going, but its 50% off of selected items, so another place worth stopping. I picked up this items here. My J’s Thigh High Boots are a favorite, when they appeared at the Shoe Fair this past year, I snagged both fatpacks for the colors alone. This low ponytail hair from Lamb is to die for, there is another variation of a low pony released at the same time, with bangs that is equally well done. Great lashes from Chaisuki, she really has a wide variety of them, this pair I love for its cat eye variations. Page 3 makes these great manicure and ring combos, all recolorable via hud, even the type of silver/gold on the rings.

I got a big surprise from Glance when I tried on their Beyonce skin, I went from soccer mom to FIERCE. This skin is incredible. If you are looking for a mid-range tan – to light ethnic skin, this is it! I have walked around in this skin for 2 weeks now, not even wanting to share it with anyone in a blog post. You simply must grab some demos and try it out for yourself!
The makeups are all well-chosen for the skin tone. They feature cat eyes to dramatic eye shadow to natural, all with coordinating lipsticks that really play up the skin. This is my shape, the shape I wear for every post. Not even custom modded to “accommodate” the natural effect the skin would need. It’s just that yummy! When Glance does a skin, it does it in one shade…it’s a concept. I would like to see them expand that a bit tone wise…perhaps a slightly lighter and darker for each of their skins, which prominently feature a look inspired by popular celebs du jour. It wouldn’t work with all of them, but would with a few others…which I hope to blog soon as well. These alone are glorious, I can’t say enough..check out my abs, my knees, and the all over effect! Wait till you try on the demos yourself!
My favorite outfit I kept coming back to recently, was comprised of some of my favorite items in my wardrobe, and a few newly acquired items too. I’ve got my fun bridisi slacks from Gisaci, paired with this fun zebra corset, which is a new item from Dreams. Textures adding depth from my DeLa cropped jacket, to my bangles and nails from Mandala. New to my inventory is this fun hair from Xplosion, and my JazzleWorks Vajazzle! Yes, I am wearing vajazzle OVER my slacks…it’s the new black..seriously are you gonna hide all this fun away? Phaylen tp’d me to this cute little place that had them… I snagged the heart as it was perfect for over the pant look, creating a bedazzled slacks effect. Home, Garden, Patio Expo 2010 begins today April 10th, and runs through April 18th. With eight regions of Second Life’s home and garden designers! It’s hard not to find someone you have loved for years, and someone you haven’t seen yet here. It’s definitely a hot ticket to browse through the displays and find some incredible items. All brought to us by the All-Stars RFL Team! Check out the list of stores, and be sure to see each one’s charity item!!
Grab some friends and teleport to Home Expo 1 to start, or open your map inworld, and type Home Expo, pick a sim, and get started! Not just awesomely made items in the RFL vendors at each store there, but auctions, raffles, and even a scavenger hunt! All events are located at the specially assigned event areas (imagine that!) located to the south of Home Expo Sims 1 through 4, and to the north of Home Expo sims 5-8, as I have highlighted in the graphic below.

I recently turned 3 years old (no there wasn’t a party we know that crashes the grid, but you may send chocolate and shoes), and had a chance via Sophia Harlow’s blog challenge to look back to the good old days. I very much appreciate how much Second Life has changed since I rezzed early January 2007. Sculpties were just hitting the grid and no where near in the numbers they are used today. Flexi hair was still newish. Prim feet rare. The residents were giants compared to the size of the average resident today. A bad teleport didn’t mean you were logged out, or crashed, but hair, shoes, and any other prim attachment shoved up your non prim derriere. Bling was still king! Professional shoppers, stylists, decorators were numerous. I used to wonder at the thought of a virtual home, hiring people to take my photo, help me shop, and decorate my home.
I knew from playing The Sims 2 that there would be downloads for Second Life online, so while downloading the viewer I surfed. I was shocked to find I would have to acquire everything inworld or make it. I made notes from blogs like Linden Lifestyles, and those on Fashion Planet, of stores that I could find items I would want. I read up on what camping was about, and salsa. I took the term camping literally and couldn’t figure out how to camp the teepee’s behind The Free Dove, (ps if you are new and reading this there isn’t any camping there). It was a lonely couple of days inworld, I didn’t talk to anyone, because they all wanted me in their dungeon, and had to learn what to do by people watching. Finally after many hours trying to figure out how to send a notecard, I responded to an instant message from a guy who was stuck in an animation in the ground. I figured you can’t harass me if you are in the ground. He was looking for a way out of his glitch, and while I don’t recall if I was able to help, he was able to help me send a notecard. He was only a few days older then me, and added me to his friends list. We would IM back and forth things we had learned as we camped and explored the grid. He showed me how to camp, sit on a pose ball, and once he even logged into my account for me to mod my skirt so I could attend a fashion show. Second Life can be overwhelming to a new resident, but its really the people that make it as great as it is. Connecting to them allows us to learn so much about each other, and provides us with the ability to step away from our real life selves and learn new things.
That notecard he showed me how to send was for my free GuRL 6 hair. I was in awe of the place, super pink and black decor, it was uber girlie, with amazing hair. I lived at GuRLywood for a couple of days while a new resident, always returning there as a home base, and to log out at night. Six Kennedy to me was the example of what you can do inworld. She had a busy store, a whole sim, and a sexy fun look. I used her as my base model of what to emulate to roughly fit in as a new resident. Shown here in my 2007 photo is moi in GuRL 6 hair, and outfit, and Celestial Studio’s Charmed skin. It’s a big difference, but many things besides my look have changed inworld. I hope that it continues to grow, residents pursue content creation, explore, and live amazing virtual lives.
The Justice line is a beautiful skin line from Idiosyncrasy. Featuring a variety of makeups that I love. Full smoky eyes with pale lips, included are more full bold lips as well, blushed cheeks, and beauty marks. The details on the skin are amazing, particularity the fronts and backs of the knees, and top of the buttocks. The skins come with hair base and cleavage enhancing options.

LeLutka‘s recent fashion show was a phenomenal. Guest arrived dressed as monks, and cloistered around a striking stage to preview the new collection. The line is balance of the feminine and masculine with soft fabrics, and structured accessories. Wearing complete looks as styled on the runway, you can take your wildest fashion dreams to the limit with full on runway concept wear. Each outfit was well put together, and easy to style from whatever your chosen perspective on what fashion should mean or be for you. I chose to blog today two specific looks from the show that symbolize the dichotomy.
Guile is a lovely party frock of black, with open poppyesque red flowers decorating the skirt, and one singular bloom for a dramatic hat. Both the hat and skirt feature tiny prim lady bugs which remind me of the quote from Under the Tuscan Sun–Ladybugs, Katherine. Lots and lots of ladybugs. Dramatic black stockings, combined with the amazing yet simplistic shoes this collection features complete the look. The outfit itself is true to the idea of this collection, it’s very fitted, yet utterly feminine, soft yet dramatic.
The Macabre Warrior outfit with accessories as seen in the show create a striking look. The basics of the Macabre Warrior are the body suit of soft draped fabric across the bodice, with a swath of black zoning the torso. Once combined with the corset, it becomes very structured. With the shoulder accessory it becomes Romanesque, a nod to the very masculine military lorica worn by Roman soldiers. The corset’s panniers also allude to the feminine lines of 18th century court costume.

I have had the MichaMi Jacket in Sky for sometime now, and have yet to blog it. I bought it in Sky which is a soft mute blue, in MichaMi’s sophisticated color palette. It lends itself easily to casual wear, and is perfect for dressing it up more. It’s collar and prim jacket parts are all togther so this is great for wearing with jewelry and not having to find a new attachment point. The sculpts are well done and come in a variety of sizes for you. I paired it with Maitreya’s Jules Jean Skirt in Dark, which consists of a well done sculpted prim skirt, and sculpted belt. The base is well finished, so it can double for a great pair of shorts too. Under my jacket I wore LeLutka‘s Shirt Top in White. It also features sculpted parts, which I chose not to wear, a lovely tiered effect with drape of fabric over the shoulder. Alone on layer it added a nice angle, and a crisp tight fitting expanse of white. It wasn’t hard to pull on my favorite boots from Maitreya, the Dune, in blue. Sculpted yumminess and good texture galore.
A cute handbag from BareRose called Bellisma in Blue was a great match, despite the finishing being in a old gold, it worked perfectly, shown here attached to right hand, default is left. They include several attachments points on the left and have thrown in a clutch purse too! Good texture, and options for a excellent BareRose price. I bought mine at BR’s location at The Deck, if you wanna snag it without the hassle of hunting through the plethora of amazing outfits at the main and go broke too. ;P I topped it off with the Starry Necklace in Blue from eLDee. I love how chunky, and fun this piece is, really a nice bit of work.
