Autumn Masquerade

So Sasy invited me to tag along to a masquerade ball being held by The Fashion Loft. I’ve not been to a formal event in years. #platformdwelling So, there was some shopping to do. I decided it’s October, autumn, there was a high chance of many attending would go with a gothic or Halloween theme, in additional to very formal and elaborate. I’m pleased to say I calculated correctly. A few were horror/gothic, most were black or red gowns.

I went with Autumn as my theme and wanted to keep it very simple. I found this great mask first, a gacha from HEXtraordinary, and went from there for aesthetic. I knew it might be a challenge to find a good fit color wise, then I recalled the immense number of gowns from my past social life I collected long ago that hadn’t even been worn yet and with BOM now in effect I had many options. So glad Slink has come out with the Slink Physique Hourglass Mesh Body Bundle (Redux)! Very pleased that I can wear some fantastic system skins I have like the Isla skin by League.

I haven’t been a huge fan of mesh gowns as I don’t care for the movement waist down due to rigging, so I deep dived for some flexi. I revisited my Last Call, and Nicky Ree stash. However, nothing matched the tones of my mask I had already selected and was determined to use.

A quick review of Marketplace turned up this lovely autumn gown by Caverna Obscura. It’s available in a few autumn gradients, and I went with brown in case there was someone else with the same idea, they would likely go with the “Pumpkin” option which was more vibrant. The dress did not come with any alphas, so I found an alpha from a slip dress that worked.

The mask and dress were a great match. I tinted some gold opera gloves (system layer) from Adam n Eve to match the bodice. I eschewed jewelry and went with some particle sparkles in gold and green from Cole’s Corner which are currently available at Uber. Since I haven’t actually shopped in a while for formal wear or even purposely chosen an updo for such purposes I went with a half up half down style from Kuni. It was pulling out older content and I was pleased with how well much of it held up since mesh. Looking forward to hopefully wearing some in the near future.

Lelutka recently released some fun bento items – Delights Cream, and Gum Gum Boom. Perfect summer fun, Gum Gum Boom features chewing gum, bubble option, and customizable HUD with bento animations. I love that it also features layer related ice cream, and a napkin to clean up that pesky mess.

The City Limit

Spencer is really unique when you take a look at it. I found the eyes were particularly striking. The cheeks are nice to work with on the sliders as is the chin. I really think this will be a great head to really play with eye makeup with. I’ve styled it with Mina’s new hair Molly, which is currently available at Uber.

Summer Sun

LeLutka is set to release several new heads this week. Here is a sneak peek of May. They are all bento, and with this release also comes an update to past bento heads Simone, Chloe, and Cate with new facial animations.  They range from a variety of moods you can cycle through, and even have more than one selected, as well as mouth poses and animations.  Also new, and what I really like, is the ability to toggle off one ear, rather than both ears to accommodate even more variety of different hairstyles. Hair Fair 2017 – Amacci

Amacci released 3 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017 .  Lani is pretty short cut, a little tousled, with a side part.  Inia is a very high voluminous pony tail. The HUD allows you to toggle 4 different bangs/fringe so you can have bangs/fringe off, parted, to the side and longer, and blunt cut.  Feray is a long hair style that runs to the back and front and the HUD allows you to choose between both sides forward – while still being down you back as well, or one side to the front. The hair color I used in this post is a fade which is available in the Variants, and the Crazy pack. Amacci is located here on the Noirette sim.

Hair Fair 2017 – Ysé

Ysé is a newer hair store in Second life. They’ve released 4 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017 .  Ysé ‘s hair tones are lovely, and I’m featuring a blonde tone from the Light Blonde pack here. You should definitely take a look at their red, and brunette packs!  Packs include a small and large hair, root version for hair tone, and variations of the style. Favor is a long hair, that runs behind the shoulders and down the back. The HUD allows you to change the length. Ivy is another long hair, and it’s HUD lets you switch between small and large breasts, as well as behind the shoulders, forward, left side forward, and right side forward. Roux is a long slender low pony tail, with tendrils. HUD allows you to switch the side of the pony tail. Emma is another long hair, pulled forward, with banded pony tail and tendrils.  HUD allows for switching sides, and between large and small breast versions. Ysé is located here on the Noirette sim.

Tetra released 3 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017. Orange is a braided hair which comes with an over the shoulder option, or down the back.  Mango is like Orange, with full braid, close to head, but is short, does not have the tail that Orange has.  The style is well done for both.  It gives the appearance of a hair that has a lot of volume to it, and it works very well for Mango as just an updo.  Cherry is a long hair, to the back, and over one shoulder.  All styles here are 1 of 2 red tones from the Balayage pack. Tetra is located here on the Brunette sim.

It’s the last day of Hair Fair 2016, and only a few hours left.  This is traditionally called Bandana Day. The day we take off our hair, and wear a bandana to show we care. As a Hair Fair committee member, it’s one of my most favorite things about Hair Fair. The committee and designers put in so much to make everything run smooth as possible for the event, and creators, and residents alike also get to be involved by creating the Bandana’s that are sold every year. They are all limited edition, and like many others I love collecting them. From the insanely stylish to the insanely creative takes on head gear. The best part are when you hear about why someone felt compelled to help out, and create one, either in memory of someone, or their personal experiences, or out of creative compassion.

Hair Fair 2016 ends July 31st. Featuring 80+ hair creators of Second Life, each hair sold donates a percentage to Wigs For Kids. Each sim also contains Bandana Booths featuring bandanas made by residents of Second Life. Bandana’s are limited edition, $50L each, with 100% of price going to Wigs for Kids.
