Autumn Masquerade

So Sasy invited me to tag along to a masquerade ball being held by The Fashion Loft. I’ve not been to a formal event in years. #platformdwelling So, there was some shopping to do. I decided it’s October, autumn, there was a high chance of many attending would go with a gothic or Halloween theme, in additional to very formal and elaborate. I’m pleased to say I calculated correctly. A few were horror/gothic, most were black or red gowns.

I went with Autumn as my theme and wanted to keep it very simple. I found this great mask first, a gacha from HEXtraordinary, and went from there for aesthetic. I knew it might be a challenge to find a good fit color wise, then I recalled the immense number of gowns from my past social life I collected long ago that hadn’t even been worn yet and with BOM now in effect I had many options. So glad Slink has come out with the Slink Physique Hourglass Mesh Body Bundle (Redux)! Very pleased that I can wear some fantastic system skins I have like the Isla skin by League.

I haven’t been a huge fan of mesh gowns as I don’t care for the movement waist down due to rigging, so I deep dived for some flexi. I revisited my Last Call, and Nicky Ree stash. However, nothing matched the tones of my mask I had already selected and was determined to use.

A quick review of Marketplace turned up this lovely autumn gown by Caverna Obscura. It’s available in a few autumn gradients, and I went with brown in case there was someone else with the same idea, they would likely go with the “Pumpkin” option which was more vibrant. The dress did not come with any alphas, so I found an alpha from a slip dress that worked.

The mask and dress were a great match. I tinted some gold opera gloves (system layer) from Adam n Eve to match the bodice. I eschewed jewelry and went with some particle sparkles in gold and green from Cole’s Corner which are currently available at Uber. Since I haven’t actually shopped in a while for formal wear or even purposely chosen an updo for such purposes I went with a half up half down style from Kuni. It was pulling out older content and I was pleased with how well much of it held up since mesh. Looking forward to hopefully wearing some in the near future.

Hair Fair 2017 – Mina

Mina released 3 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017.  Fiona is a messy pigtail braided style. Luna is a half up, half down, pigtail bun hair style. Emma is a long hair, with hair to the front and back, parted on one side.  Mina is located here on the Redhead sim.

It’s the last day of Hair Fair 2016, and only a few hours left.  This is traditionally called Bandana Day. The day we take off our hair, and wear a bandana to show we care. As a Hair Fair committee member, it’s one of my most favorite things about Hair Fair. The committee and designers put in so much to make everything run smooth as possible for the event, and creators, and residents alike also get to be involved by creating the Bandana’s that are sold every year. They are all limited edition, and like many others I love collecting them. From the insanely stylish to the insanely creative takes on head gear. The best part are when you hear about why someone felt compelled to help out, and create one, either in memory of someone, or their personal experiences, or out of creative compassion.

La Retenue

I spend a nice week of mornings watching Maylee Oh make the Annabelle Dress and Leonie Cardigan. When she started it, she had her drawn inspiration photo which I was just in love with. Specially the tight color she chose for it. It just set it off nicely. I decided when it was ready, I as well was going to wear it with tights. I’m wearing the Sprinkles print for the dress, in the Slink size, with the coral cardigan. This outfit is available at Collabor88. My tights are Izzie’s Sheer Tights (Slink Applier) in grey to pick up the grey sprinkles.  I went with Ingenue’s Le Papillon heels in rouge for a bit of whimsy. Funny enough, Wasabi Pills made a hair for Hairology called Coral, and I love how cute it is, specially with the dress. I’m also wearing the Ekberg Leather Tote from Murray in silver, and an older gacha favorite marketing bag from Lark.

Hairology has opened, it’s a new monthly event exclusively for hair! It will run every month from the 10th, to the 30th. Designers will feature at least 1 exclusive new hair. I’ve styled some new releases together, Emery’s St. Lucia leather pants, with this sweater from B.C.C., the back of the sweater, which I totally should have photographed, is low with a tie. I love it as we see so much of our back in SL, it’s nice to have that detail there. The Trust Fund

So Sasy and I had to take time off of vacationing to head home to our country estate and put an appearance in, to keep the trust fund flowing. You know how it is. Work B**ch

Blogging with Sasy, so check out what she’s wearing here. I like the way I hadn’t even finished linking my last blog post to my Flickr photo, and Sasy is like “Just do it at Uber, I got in, just like that!”. So yeah, there I was no longer tending to the blog post I just posted, but shopping at Uber, cause yeah, I got in just like that too! With so little effort, that I wondered if I made a list somewhere. (btw, if you haven’t already you should totally add me to your estate list, cause…well..hello.) So, we shopped, and it wasn’t even like hard –look sometimes it’s hard when you work at it like an Olympic sport.  Sasy, is of course, always, and I say ALWAYS ready to work out. I don’t know, starting it think its an Aussie thing, I mean she shared air with Olivia Newton-John so yeah. So we shopped, and then I get back to our studio, and unpack. Yes, we share studio space, so we’re always tripping over Sasy’s bags (mine), and the furniture she (I) leave around. I had already channeled the fashion vibe in the air and had previous starting working on our home (studio) gym setting up my mesh lockers from Soy. There are also some hot ones at Uber from Junk, if you are interested (not shown). They’re cool, they feature a clean and dirty version. <wink>

I snagged as many fatpacks as I could of various things, cause you know if you hit the gym regularly (with a Sasy in your life…all the time) so they would come in handy. I had to run back twice cause I forgot to buy shoes from CandyDoll, and Sweet Lovely Cute’s stands from her First Contest AO. Can’t believe I made it in, just like that both times. So here’s my blog post, which is really a just a huge monologue cause Sasy made me blog so soon. Seriously, I’m like unboxing things after taking photos, and she’s like “I just posted, and linked to yours.”  and I am all like “…uh… I just blogged.” She’s like “What!!!” and I said, “I will use it tomorrow.”, and she’s like “NO!” so here it is.

Oh jeez I didn’t even consider the credit typing time involved. Glad I just got coffee. I mean ffs I have set a personal goal of blogging everyday this week, and here I am twice in one night. I’m a hot mess.

Sunny Day

With summers end nearly here, I will be sad to pack up the beach house, but I always look forward to autumn. I’m making sure I wear as much of my swimwear as possible to get summer out of my system. Today I’m wearing cool bikini I picked up at Mon Cheri. I snagged the fatpack, so I can mix and match all the amazing patterns. The HUD not only lets you chose the pattern on it, but the tassels and cords as well. This swimsuit fits like a dream on my Slink Physique mesh body, with a fit mesh version especially for it. I coordinated my manicure to match with Flair’s set 49, cause that’s how I roll.

My hair is from LeLutka, and is amazingly long and wavy. There is another hair from the same release available with hair to the side, that I blogged here. I’m wearing League’s Luna skin, with freckles option on my Slink Physique mesh body, and LeLutka’s Aria mesh head. Sunkiss is my favorite skin tone from League, leaving me all over tanned like I’ve spent all summer under the virtual sun.

Island In The Sun

If you haven’t been to the latest round of Collabor88 you need to go. It’s their birthday round, loaded with tons of stores participating. I picked up Soy’s Dreamy Hanging Chair there. It’s perfect for finishing off the summer in. I’m wearing Mon Cheri’s Sachi Flaire Dress, it comes with sleeves (not shown) also. It’s available in a variety of solids, and these fun tie dye prints. They also include a belt with HUD so you can change belt colors.

My hair is is Laila from Mina. It’s at Festival of Sin II at the moment. I love the height at the back, and how full it is. Let’s Go Surfing

This was the summer for swimwear. I think I collected it all summer.  Baiastice released their Fringe Micro Bikini in June, and it should be considered a summer staple in your wardrobe. It’s available in a wide range of colors, my two favorite are the emerald green and this coral I’m wearing. There are also fun prints to consider too! It’s hot! My hair is from Olive, and was a release at Hair Fair 2015. It’s long and tousled.

Inside my beach house from Haikei, I’ve got Cheeky Pea’s Boho Dreamtime Hammock as the perfect way to laze away a summer day. This cool fan I picked up from Toiz’s gacha at Shiny Shabby, along with Nomad’s gacha drawers and chest. I love the pillow seat on them and lanterns. Other fun gacha items I’ve picked up this past summer are Dust Bunny’s Fresh Strawberry water, and hanging flower pot. Apple Fall sells the perfect potted fern, you can pick it up on marketplace without having hunt around the store for it. Sweet Escape

This was summer of fantastic releases that really filled out my wardrobe, and my house full of beachy things.  I picked up this cute boho blouse at Mimikri. She’s updated her store, if you haven’t been in awhile. Nothing but mesh now, and she always has something neat there. I really liked this top, and am wearing it with Blueberry’s Elina Shorts. They have a side string, and a really nice shape to them. I bought the fatpack, so I can wear them with anything. The fatpack HUD lets you easily pick from all the colors, and even recolor the side strings.

My hair is from Slink, who recently installed a new store. The rebuild is contemporary, sleek, and still has a bit of a retro feel to it. I really like it.  She’s redefined the interior space to specific sections making the place very easy to navigate. My Trinidad sandals are from Essenz. She’s has so many fantastic sandals, but these are my favorites.  My beach house is full of all kinds of fun gacha’s I played all summer, and some favorites I have picked up over the past year or so at a variety of events, and stores.
