Hair Fair 2013 – Vanity Hair

I’m wearing the new Boys Will Be Boys hairstyle from Vanity Hair released at Hair Fair 2013. It’s a high volume updo, with bun, that comes down in two pigtails, wrapped with hair, and ending in front and in back with huge a huge curl. I’m wearing it with Tres Blah’s Frilly Dress in blush from this months Collabor88. It’s a romantic little sleeveless dress with ruffled bodice and hem, and bow tied to the side. It’s available in a variety of colors and prints. I’ve accessorized it with LaGyo’s Isabella earrings, and necklace in pale, mesh flowers on gold cord. I’m also wearing G Fields Ribbon Slingback shoes in salmon. They’re nice slingbacks, and each shoe has a menu when you click it to turn the front and back bows off. Making it a really versatile part of your wardrobe. My manicure is a peach to flamingo pink ombre polish in Set 31 from Flair, I’m wearing it on my SLink Avatar Enhancement Hands, with skin appliers from Izzie’s to match my Izzie’s Jill skin.

The other two hairstyles Vanity Hair released at Hair Fair 2013 are Fantastic Girls, and Sonata. Fantastic Girls is a voluminous pouf that ends about shoulder level with soft barely there curls. It would be great for formal wear. Sonata is an intricate looped updo that frames the head from the back, another great formal wear hairstyle.

Hair Fair 2013 began this weekend with over 80 hair stores participating. There is an amazing selection from fashion forward to fantasy! Men will be particularly pleased to know there is quite a lot of styles for them this year, so grab your guy and shop for a good cause. Also available at the fair, are Free Official Hair Fair 2013 outfits, which feature him and her layer clothing, and hair bases from DCNY and Exile. No need for AO’s, just find a bus kiosk and rez a bus to move in edit around the fair, they come in singles, and larger versions for group shopping. This year the theme is a fun interlocking block build, each sim has it’s own unique color scheme and style so you can easily tell where you are and where you’ve been. Upon arriving at a landing point, you can chose left or right, follow the path and easily make your way around the fair, back to where you started assuring you of full fair coverage. Many stores also have placed out free gifts, and dollarbies.

Hair Fair 2013 – Curio Obscura

Curio Obscura made some fabulous hair for Hair Fair 2013. The designer, Pandora Wigglesworth, is always imaginative, and always creates a hair worth talking about. This release at Hair Fair 2013 is no different. My style photo is of the Big Fat Spirals hair style in white, with my WL it’s a bit grey so sue me. The hair style true to it’s name, is composed of Big Fat Spiral ringlets, the kind you might find on some petulant little brat out there. I’ve gone goth Lolita with it in white, and Bare Rose’s Nite outfit. It’s mesh, modifiable, and full of details. My skin is Mother Goose’s Lene 1 with teeth and light brow. I’m wearing Amacci’s Gaze Eyes in Blue Pink, as they go so well with paler skin.

Curio Obscura released five hairstyles at Hair Fair 2013. Above I styled Big Fat Spirals, and they also released Braids Unfurled Pigtails with and without bows. The bows are color changeable as is the hair if you click it, you will get a nice selection for customizing. Glamazon Swoop is, as you might guess, all about glamor in Amazonian proportions. It includes a ‘mirror’ version so you can always show off your best side. The Godiva Deluge was a refreshing take on your usual Lady Godiva style, featuring masses of fat curls, it includes a body alpha so you too can effect the perfect demure style with just your tresses. Curio Obscura’s Manehawk was truly magnificent for proportion, fullness, and the ability to give a reptilian impression from behind. I’ve worn Glamazon Swoop, Godiva Deluge, Manehawk with Bare Rose’s mesh Blinger dress in Gold, and Silver.

Hair Fair 2013 – Discord Designs

This is the Cosima mesh dread hair style from Discord Designs currently at Hair Fair 2013. It’s long half up half down style, in the dirty blonde hair shade, with hair base. The Cosima features a gracile, and robust version, I’m currently wearing the gracile. I’m wearing it with Ison’s V-Cut Jumpsuit in white, and accessorized it with Ison’s Scout Boho Bag, in striped tan. It’s a dressy casual resort look, finished off with Maxi Gossamer Jewelry’s Eden Sun Pendant, and their new San Remo bangle/cuff in gold aged, and Mandala’s Sinra earrings in chocolate brown. My shoes are the Suave platforms from Maitreya, in toast. My manicure is Redrum which is in Set 22 from Flair.

Discord Designs released four hairstyles at Hair Fair 2013. Cosima is a long hairstyle. Ciss is a short matted dread tied up with a headscarf/band that is texture change. Bobbi is a cool updo that twists a bit. Deoridhe is a short braid style pulled back, and inter-braided further almost creating a bun effect with wisps. Discords Designs has a store gift/dollarbie of a short braided hair style, shown here in neutral blonde with hair base called Roni.

Hair Fair 2013 – Ink

I’m wearing Ink’s Chignon hair style from Hair Fair 2013.. It’s a fedora hat hair with a loose low ponytail at the back. The shade I chose was the “roots” shade which is a golden blonde with brown roots. The hair comes with a HUD that lets you change the hat, and band. I’m also wearing Ison’s Detzel Leather Shirt in Black and White with House Of Fox’s Leather Panel Skirt in black and white I picked up at Collabor88 this month. I chose my Jacqualine Sandals from Celoe in Glamour (black) with silver details for my shoe. I mixed in some color with my pink and silver Boho Bangles from Maxi Gossamer Jewelry, Candy pink nails from Flair’s Set 1 on my mesh Slink hands, and Emery’s Samantha Clutch in Jalpur. My skin is Marnie from Adam N Eve, and I’m wearing T3 in pink to match my nails. It’s a lovely skin, I love the attention to detail such as my hands, and especially that Adam N Eve also makes skin appliers for SLink’s Mesh Avatar Enhancement Hands, so I get the same quality of detail there too. The skin comes with dimples, so of course I had to wear that makeup layer too. 😀

Ink released five hair styles at Hair Fair 2013. The hair is advertised as guy hair, but I don’t care, its perfect, although I would like to see the Chignon on Gary. I’m wearing it for my style post, I liked it so much. Both Chignon and Newold are “hat hairs”, with Huds that let you change the fedora color, and fedora band. Newold is full loose hair under fedora, and Chignon is a low loosely looped ponytail under fedora with wisps here and there. Benzie is a full messy hairdo that comes with two styles included, A features a bit of a part up front, and B is nearly fully covering the eyes. Andy is short hair style that angles forward. Seya is a grown out High and Tight style which includes several styles of hair bases, including one with longer sideburns. INK also has a gift hair at Hair Fair 2013, the SKC Blonde/Blue which is a blue and white striped knit cap on chin length hair in their blonde shade.

Hair Fair 2013 – Slink

Slink released 5 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2013. Marling a long behind the shoulders style. Bianca an angle cut bob pulled behind the ear. A sharp hairstyle, and great for effecting a business look. Constance a great updo, with fat ringlet up front, another down the back, you have to demo this one to see the lovely pouf in the back. This hair is great for anything from high fashion, formal to historical. Heather is long brushed back hairstyle, it appears slightly short upfront then it does from the back. Tiffany is a shorter bob, with little whisps across the forehead, and sides pulled behind the ears. Slink has introduced color packs to their store, yay! All these are available at Hair Fair 2013.

I’m wearing a resort look today, with mesh Dominga Slacks from Indyra Originals. I like the full pant leg for summer, with this pretty white dominate print. Many of Indyra Original’s clothing comes as an entire outfit, and this was no exception, with a bralet, and shrug to match. I’m mixing and matching with Baiastice’s Lipsy mesh halter. It’s available in a variety of colors, and features a pretty tie at the back of the neck.
I’ve accessorized with Maitreya’s Calgary Clutch in noir, Maitreya’s Liaison heels in raven, and Miel’s Sha jewelry set. I’m wearing Izzie’s new Jill skin in sunkissed, and used their skin applier hud on my SLink avatar enhancement hands for a perfect match. My manicure is from Flair’s set 111, which is features a silver wave at the top of the nail, and solid color down to the tips, in this case red to match my lipstick.

Hair Fair 2013 – Exile

Exile released four hairstyles at Hair Fair 2013. I’m styling the Counting Stars in Bronde. This Bronde shade is from the Natural Fusion 2 HUD, and if you click the little polka dots underneath the shade, you can add in highlights, lowlights, and streaks of color. I’m wearing Bronde with beige dot/blonde highlights. Counting Stars is a full long hair style, with tresses in front, and behind. Other styles feature ringlets, and headband with texture change via HUD. I’m wearing a new Puff Sleeve Blouse from House of Fox which is currently available at Collabor88. This mesh blouse is available in a variety of colors, and easily worn with many items, House of Fox also has some cute skirts that look great with it there. I’m mixing and match the blouse with Milk Motion’s Native Print Skirt 2 from The Dressing Room Fusion. It’s available there in three prints, for a discounted price. I love the peach tones with the charcoal designs.

Also available at The Dressing Room Fusion are Label Motion’s poses I’m using, they’ve got two packs out at the event. The Vintage 2 Strap Pump’s are mesh, and designed to be worn over the SLink’s mesh medium feet, I’m wearing the Avatar Enhancement Medium feet, which allow me to use skin appliers from Izzie’s to custom texture my feet to match Izzie’s skin. The Same goes for my mesh hands from SLink, both the hands and feet have appliers from Izzie’s and I’m using Flair’s Set 14 NakedP manicure and pedicure on them. My skin from Izzie’s is Jill and a new release, it has a variety of eyeshadow, lipsticks, plus freckles, moles, and eyeliner.

Frou Frou – Hair Fair 2012

Frou Frou released 5 hair styles at Hair Fair 2012. Four updos are great for runway, editorial, and formal dress and an angled bob with a ribboned rolled hair piece. Frou Frou also has a gift hairband, that is the ribbon and rolls element that is on three of the styles, to mix in with your hair.

I’m wearing portions of an outfit called Tremolo Staff from Bare Rose. Not shown are the shoes, leg ribbons, shoes, and hair bow. The skirt is kinda genius, the top two layers are sculpted so it holds it’s form, the bottom ruffles are flexi prims with glow, it’s a great effect. This outfit also includes a white version with purchase. Tremolo Staff is a musical term and there are several other complimentary outfits with similar names in that theme, like Staccato, etc. My boots are mesh and from LeLutka, with rivet, lace, and heel color options via hud. My stockings are from !gO!, the pack included brown, and beige as well for a great price. They have really nice texturing, and feature prim bows around the top.

MINA – Hair Fair 2012

MINA released 3 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2012. MINA hair comes with hair shade hud with resizer. Daan a unisex short hair style that also comes with an additional hud for highlights. My larger photo shows the hair in a solid shade, and two highlight variations. Anouk is a loose long hair, that has a bit of a wave to it. I really liked how nice and full it was. Lente is a pulled back soft pony tail with tendrils on the side of the face. I love this shade I went with, technically its in the Brown range but its got a bit of red to it, all around a great shade. MINA has a gift hair at Hair Fair 2012, it’s Blanche a sassy angled bob, in a very light blonde. It’s easily tint-able, for those who like to tint, I was able to replicate one of my favorite shades of reddish brown easily.

I’m wearing a polka dot mesh halter top from Ribbon I picked up at the Okinawa Summer Festival, its available in a variety of prints from a damask to leopard. I liked the denim shade to it, and went casual wearing a mini mini skirt from Nyte’N’Day, and denim Pilar Wedges from YS&YS.

Logo released three lovely mesh hair styles at Hair Fair 2012. Shown here are Alessandra, a soft long hair style, with some nice height at the back, Lyla another pretty long hair style, and a soft braid called Michelle. I love this Caramel tone Logo has, and that fact they include 3 sizes to help get a perfect fit. I’m wearing a cute summer tank dress from Bonne Chance!, it’s mesh and comes in variety of faded shades, and even has an optional belt currently available at the Okinawa Summer Festival. It’s filled with a variety of Asian designers, with gatchas, lucky boards, and a few free items as well. Definitely worth a look! I accessorized a necklace from Mon Tissu, and their cute French Pouf in cream which I used color under cursor to custom match the bottom shades of my dress. I’m also wearing Indyra’s Suha Bead earrings in honeysuckle. My skin is another find from the Okinawa Summer Festival, from Banilacoco (I love this name) in tan. The face and makeup is youthful, dewy, and soft.

Hair Fair 2012 – SLink

SLink released 3 lovely mesh styles at Hair Fair 2012. A gorgeous soft french twist, a lovely soft braid called Mica, and this short style called Nicolette. Nicolette is angled nicely, and I how short is is on the side. The french twist is soft, draping to the side of the face. Mica is a cute braid, with whisps here and there, and loose tendrils that have escaped here and there. These three styles are currently available only at Hair Fair 2012 until July 29th, after that they will be available at SLink’s main store.

Erratic just released a mesh leather dress that’s hot, well textured, and available in a variety of colors. I liked the form, the collar, and the thick look to the leather. I’ve paired them with Maitreya‘s mesh couture leggings in oil-disco, and accessorized with some favorites from Mandala. I’m wearing new mesh eyes from Izzie’s called Deep Dark Eyes. As you can guess they feature of deep tones and I like how deep even the teal shade I am wearing is. They’re easy to wear, barely any adjusting, I only made my iris’ a bit smaller I went with 1.20 on the horizontal and diagonal as a personal preference, even 1.1 would have been perfectly fine. They also come with a layer version.

Hair Fair 2012 – Clawtooth

Bubbles Clawtooth released four long hair styles at Hair Fair 2012. I’ve been so busy for such a long time, I haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy some Clawtooth hair even though Bubbles is very active in releasing hairs. Shame on me, cause I love Clawtooth, and apparently I have really been missing out. So while I help organize and build Hair Fair, depriving myself in the process of hair, it makes it all worth it’s still exciting for me. The release included 2 long loose hairstyles, one featuring a lovely victory type curl/swoop, and 2 braids that were whispy about the face.

Hair Fair 2012 – Demo Group

The Hair Fair Demo Group has always not only been a great way to see all the hair releases early – Hair Fair Demos are sent the day before Hair Fair starts – but also a fun way to try on styles from creators that may be new to you, with friends and family at home.

Not only can you compile a shopping list ahead of time, and be prepared to just shop at the event, it will also help with not having to rez each style in a busy environment, store to store.

Have a party, get your friends to vote on styles you love, play dress ups with your besties and convince your partners that trying on girl or boy hair is fun behind closed doors – don’t forget to make your snapshot silent while you take pics of them.

This event is a huge Charity Event for Wigs for Kids, and we want it to be as fun as possible for you, and we love hearing all the excitement leading up to the event, and Demos are a great way to do that. Hair Fair 2011 – The Strand

The Strand released three hair styles for Hair Fair 2011, Last Stand, Polo, and Buttons. I can’t wait for fall so I can pair up my Buttons with a cozy sweater, its nicely textured and extremely cute. Polo is a lovely addition, I imagine this pool side with my gold bikini and a hot guy, and Last Stand is stunning, perfect for chic suits, historical wear, and cosplay. How lucky are we to get three hat styles at once! BTW Reel Expression is having a 50% off sale, they will be closing eventually no date set.

Womens, mens, casual, formal, fantasy styles you name it. Plus many designers have included a free gift in their stores. Don’t forget to check out the bandana booths on each sim! Bandana’s made by designers, content creators, and your fellow residents! Bandanas are $50L each, and 100% benefit the charity. Bandana Day is July 15th, the last day of the fair, the day we take off our hair, wear a bandana to show our support to those effect by hair loss because of illness.

Hair Fair 2011 – (Red)Mint

(Red)Mint released three hairstyles at Hair Fair 1011. I really like their hair textures, and found their satin blond to be my favorite. With this outfit I’m wearing Hair No. 09 in black, I loved the flow, and messy look. My outfit’s ‘base” is the Chic Bodysuit from Nemesis. I love the top of the suit with the prim sleeves, and the urban skyline graphic on the torso. I paired it with the skirt from IT Dress from Ladies Who Lunch which is a fun feathered skirt. I’ve accessorized with League’s Raven Necklace, fun eyelashes from Sky Everett Designs, and a cool drummer’s case from Sey. The stockings from artilleri’s Naughty or Nice outfit are perfect for this.

Hair Fair 2011 – Shagtastic

I put this outfit together a while ago, but recently updated it with Sway’s beach bag. I’m wearing skin and eye gifts available from Ploom and Digital Eyes at Hair Fair. Shag has released two women’s styles at Hair Fair 2011, this one is Bombshell, which I love! It’s a great layered angled bob. Super tousled, good structure. I’m also wearing a release from the beginning of summer from DeLa, a cute open cardigan, with color change buttons, over a great one piece dress from E! in navy. These shoes from Slink are a dream to tint, and fun to wear. While at the fair I noticed this jewelry set in an ad for hair at SugarsmacK, and rushed right over to get it at Indy&Co. It’s available in a variety of colors, and features the necklace and earrings to match.

This dress was a surprise to find at Nylon Outfitters, I totally didn’t expect to find it, as I usually associate them with more casual wear. It’s cute, and totally ready for a party, which I thought was perfect with Shag’s other women’s hair from Hair Fair. I feel somewhere in between Holly Golightly and Romy and Michel. I love the height of it, and that it stills is long.

Many people collect these as sou’enirs. Gar. Arrr, the styles range from a traditional look t’ mighty whimsy. They all run $50 each, and be a’ailable at bandana booths on each sim. Mina Paper Couture

Mina is a store that’s new to me this year, and it’s been fun to get to know them through their offerings this year. My favorite at the fair is Stacey, which is a very relaxed updo, with attachable ponytail. It comes with 2 variations of the updo portion, with, and without daisies. The ponytail itself is also adorned with daisies. Bonus it’s a charity hair, as well as the Thulani. Thulani is a versatile unisex hair, as well as the Debbie, which is shown here in Cranberry. A while back someone posted a plurk highlight photos of a country wedding they had found on flickr. We wondered over the splendid photography, and I was determined I would try to emulate some of the principles at play in them. When I saw Paper Couture’s Crossroads dress, I was sure this was just the dress to attempt for this, partnered with this Stacey hair. However I envisioned something a little more than what I settled for, as I really just don’t have the time to play around doing a full attempt at shadows in Kirsten. So here it is, minus the shadows, extra props, lighting, etc, all that can happen another day. The crossroads dress is a lovely mermaid style dress, with details over the bodice, very simple, very elegant. It also comes with a grey shrug not shown here. I have played it simple with the jewelry throwing on a turquoise and silver necklace from Zaara, and a pair of western boots (not viewable) from Adam n Eve, complete with Surf Couture, sheaf of wheat for my mouth.

Bubbles Clawtooth, of the Tableau Clawtooths aka Clawtooth by Clawtooth, has made yummy hairs this year, many of them with a vintage origin. The French Connection is tres chic, and very nautical at the same time oh la ahoy, viva la resistance! The beret is texture change which gives you tons of options, and really hugs your head well accenting your bangs/fringe. Other designs from Clawtooth this year are RockinRolls, a fun victory roll hair, follow up another victory roll hair he did awhile back. I love it. My Shilova is a chic short hair that I think can go from casual to evening wear. It’s very 1930’s, yet very contemporary. You’re A Star, is exactly old Hollywood glamour, it begs for a satin gown, and a tiered fur stole with tails. Turnip Sorbet is Clawtooth’s charity hair, its very waif like, adorable, and versatile. I loved the possibilities insinuated by this hair so I paired it with a navy peacoat from en Svale, and headed over to Mystic to take shadow photos. They were quite fail for me, but luckily Sasy is better then me at it, and took these for me. I’m also wearing a blue strip turtleneck from Coco, I love the effect of the sculpted bottom portion, specially with this shorter peacoat. I have absolutely no idea whose shorts I am wearing, and my apologies to the creator. I am usually able to recall such things easily, and didnt make notes at the time this photo was taken, 1 free item from my store to the first person who accurately names it, and it appears in my inventory. I am afraid it’s the same with the makeup version of this Chaisuki skin, you will have to try on demos to find it, it’s most likely in the Vienna line, peach tone, as I have been wearing those alot lately.

Ibizarre Raspberry Aristocrat

So in the middle of this, my friends took off to do the Kawaii Hunt and left me on my posestand. I will remember this. Today I have Raspberry Aristocrats hair, she was such great find last year, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who waited all year for more hair. It was well worth the wait considering her 3 Darlas hair is a short bob with 3 variations of bangs/fringe. 3 Darlas is her donation to charity hair, and an excellent deal on top of that. Continuing the trend at her store she has Halia, Fala, and Solace all in the bobbed hair range. Fala features a flexi option, Halia is a longer bob (limited time store freebie) , and Solace is an angled cut. Lemondrop and Brooklyn are pulled back pony styles. With my Raspberry Aristocrat hair, I have on a new release from Ibizarre. Get ready to start the fall season with this cute babydoll style sweater with flower print. I love the knit texture, and the prim work is very cute. I had some viewer issues that created an issue making the seams derez leaving a flesh toned line where they meet. I would have them correct from time to time, and even asked some friends on different viewers what they saw, and confirmed this was a rezzing/viewer issue. The seams are fine. I corrected this by wearing other clothing underneath on all layers to match the tone of the sweater. Even with a turtleneck and t-shirt I had most of it corrected with a small bit under the arms remaining a problem. I just ignored it. I have styled the sweater with these cute grey jeans and belt from INDI Designs Freya outfit. The sweater was so Mod, I had to have a pair of skinny pants. I accessorized with red as much as I could to really make everything pop. Red journey.boots, and loop jewelry from fri,day, and bright red gloves from 5th & Oxford were perfect. I love these gloves, I need to go grab them in all the colors available. This was a purchase I made for another outfit, and I just don’t want to take them off. All this red really plays off the red lipstick from the latest skin from Tuli released at The Dressing Room…Helena 02. I love that my Launa Fauna dimples go perfectly with it. I picked up this cute tote from Wasted Youth, it comes with a bow option as well.

The Ibizarre Helena Sweater also was part of a release that included matching leg warmers, and capri length leather pants. Shown above I have the whole outfit styled with its matching Helena items, and then also my way. Available in Black, Brown, Grey and Lilac. It was hard to separate these from each other for a style post, but I think it worked well. The Helena cropped leather pants have a great texture, and I can’t wait to mix them into my wardrobe. The leg warmers come in floral, and plain. I love the matching knit texture they have, and these would be especially cute over jeans.
