Autumn Masquerade

So Sasy invited me to tag along to a masquerade ball being held by The Fashion Loft. I’ve not been to a formal event in years. #platformdwelling So, there was some shopping to do. I decided it’s October, autumn, there was a high chance of many attending would go with a gothic or Halloween theme, in additional to very formal and elaborate. I’m pleased to say I calculated correctly. A few were horror/gothic, most were black or red gowns.

I went with Autumn as my theme and wanted to keep it very simple. I found this great mask first, a gacha from HEXtraordinary, and went from there for aesthetic. I knew it might be a challenge to find a good fit color wise, then I recalled the immense number of gowns from my past social life I collected long ago that hadn’t even been worn yet and with BOM now in effect I had many options. So glad Slink has come out with the Slink Physique Hourglass Mesh Body Bundle (Redux)! Very pleased that I can wear some fantastic system skins I have like the Isla skin by League.

I haven’t been a huge fan of mesh gowns as I don’t care for the movement waist down due to rigging, so I deep dived for some flexi. I revisited my Last Call, and Nicky Ree stash. However, nothing matched the tones of my mask I had already selected and was determined to use.

A quick review of Marketplace turned up this lovely autumn gown by Caverna Obscura. It’s available in a few autumn gradients, and I went with brown in case there was someone else with the same idea, they would likely go with the “Pumpkin” option which was more vibrant. The dress did not come with any alphas, so I found an alpha from a slip dress that worked.

The mask and dress were a great match. I tinted some gold opera gloves (system layer) from Adam n Eve to match the bodice. I eschewed jewelry and went with some particle sparkles in gold and green from Cole’s Corner which are currently available at Uber. Since I haven’t actually shopped in a while for formal wear or even purposely chosen an updo for such purposes I went with a half up half down style from Kuni. It was pulling out older content and I was pleased with how well much of it held up since mesh. Looking forward to hopefully wearing some in the near future.

The map shows the regions have been moved into place and are located to the east of the Bellisseria landed regions. As yet there appears to be no causeway and/or bridge leading to this area. So those within the boating community should be delighted. It’s only a short trip via watercraft.

There is still a considerable amount of land that is heavily landscaped with public areas for gathering. Lovely beaches, conversation areas, picnic areas, and cuddle spots are dotted all over them. So get ready, I also imagine there will be some leaving the landed Linden Homes to try for them so you might even get an opening for a parcel if you’re lucky.  F5 is your friend.  Linden Homes are available for premium residents. Hi everyone. So my mailbox is fixed, and I’ve got a proper Linden Home again. Now, comes the fun part, deciding which home style I like, and getting my furniture in.  This has been pretty difficult. I’m leaning very heavily on the Winchester, and currently moving into that one for now.

The biggest issue I see is how to divvy up enough LI for the space so I can have a bit of everything I think I need. I’m very sure I want a kitchen, living room, dining, and outdoor recreation. It’s the upstairs bedroom that is conflicting me, I would like a bedroom as well as a work room which I can use it for both.

Initially I decided since I had 5 areas to decorate I would evenly assign LI to each space with a starting point of about 70 LI per space. Seemed simple enough, if I was happy with an area that was still under 70 LI I could reassign additional LI elsewhere or keep as I might want to spawn cars as needed.

This is actually quite a challenge for me considering I’ve lived with nearly whole sims to rez out as much as I please for 10 years. I’ve already started installing a kitchen, and plan on working it out from there.

The Lindens keep teasing us with news that more homes are coming soon. I’ve been watching the map and they certainly are making progress. They’ve also updated to include security orbs, as when they went live the ban lines were ugly and as you can imagine, that just ruined the esthetics here quick. So the solution was to feature security orbs, and there are quite a few rules for them as we don’t want to suddenly find ourselves returned home from the street on a bike ride, or sent home when flying over (personal aircraft are quite popular here). So that should help at least keep my hot tub clean. For more information about the security orbs check the forum announcement from Patch Linden here.

Ya know, you’re probably thinking right now, why is does that place have a slurl and not this place? Look, do you see all those stores? I didn’t plan on having to slurl all of them. I certainly didn’t think that out well when thinking ooh I can have an outfit change and take another photo. I haven’t blogged in like 6 months so I’m rusty and over ambitious. Aspen Fell ~ Memories

I love the virtual change of seasons inworld having only 2 seasons where I live – Tourist Season and Rainy Season (aka Hurricane Season).  I’ve been so busy with real life, depression, and work that I practically missed autumn inworld. I was able to get a bit of a fix at Aspen Fell.

Aspen Fell ~ Memories is a pretty sim featuring a railway with train, water tower, floating bridges, and other charming vignettes for hanging out, photography, and exploring.  The lovely thing about it is, there’s a stream running through dividing the sims into two. The cusp of winter is on one side, with the last bits of fall clinging to it, the other side is a winter setting.

If you are looking for a pretty little place for a date, to sit and chat, meet up with friends, or for photography purposes, it’s worth stopping by.

Spencer is really unique when you take a look at it. I found the eyes were particularly striking. The cheeks are nice to work with on the sliders as is the chin. I really think this will be a great head to really play with eye makeup with. I’ve styled it with Mina’s new hair Molly, which is currently available at Uber.

Summer Sun

LeLutka is set to release several new heads this week. Here is a sneak peek of May. They are all bento, and with this release also comes an update to past bento heads Simone, Chloe, and Cate with new facial animations.  They range from a variety of moods you can cycle through, and even have more than one selected, as well as mouth poses and animations.  Also new, and what I really like, is the ability to toggle off one ear, rather than both ears to accommodate even more variety of different hairstyles. Hair Fair 2017 – Exile

Exile released 5 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017.  Just For One Night is a page-boy. It seems more page-boy then an angled bob, with blunt cut bangs/fringe at eyebrow level. What I think is particularly amazing about this hairstyle, is the angle up towards the back that shows off the tendrils which makes this a really fantastic style.  Initially I thought it might be my hair base, but then I realized, that was part of the style which a in hindsight made me want to re-shoot my photo from behind for it as well. Bad At Love is a long hairstyle, pulled over the right shoulder, with volume. A bento version features slight movement as expected of a thicker hair. Lovefool features long wavy pigtails, with long side bangs/fringe.  It also comes with a bento version for movement. Broadcast the Boom is a long hair, parted on the side, and a windswept look. It includes a bento version which enhances this with movement. All My Best Lies is a long hair, with volume.  A portion goes down the back, and two sections pulled forward, there is a slight wave to it. A bento version included gives your waves a nice realistic wave of their own. Exile is here on the Noirette sim.

Hair Fair 2017 – Amacci

Amacci released 3 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017 .  Lani is pretty short cut, a little tousled, with a side part.  Inia is a very high voluminous pony tail. The HUD allows you to toggle 4 different bangs/fringe so you can have bangs/fringe off, parted, to the side and longer, and blunt cut.  Feray is a long hair style that runs to the back and front and the HUD allows you to choose between both sides forward – while still being down you back as well, or one side to the front. The hair color I used in this post is a fade which is available in the Variants, and the Crazy pack. Amacci is located here on the Noirette sim.

Hair Fair 2017 – Ysé

Ysé is a newer hair store in Second life. They’ve released 4 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017 .  Ysé ‘s hair tones are lovely, and I’m featuring a blonde tone from the Light Blonde pack here. You should definitely take a look at their red, and brunette packs!  Packs include a small and large hair, root version for hair tone, and variations of the style. Favor is a long hair, that runs behind the shoulders and down the back. The HUD allows you to change the length. Ivy is another long hair, and it’s HUD lets you switch between small and large breasts, as well as behind the shoulders, forward, left side forward, and right side forward. Roux is a long slender low pony tail, with tendrils. HUD allows you to switch the side of the pony tail. Emma is another long hair, pulled forward, with banded pony tail and tendrils.  HUD allows for switching sides, and between large and small breast versions. Ysé is located here on the Noirette sim.

Tetra released 3 hairstyles at Hair Fair 2017. Orange is a braided hair which comes with an over the shoulder option, or down the back.  Mango is like Orange, with full braid, close to head, but is short, does not have the tail that Orange has.  The style is well done for both.  It gives the appearance of a hair that has a lot of volume to it, and it works very well for Mango as just an updo.  Cherry is a long hair, to the back, and over one shoulder.  All styles here are 1 of 2 red tones from the Balayage pack. Tetra is located here on the Brunette sim.
